How it works

  1. My conclusion after a number of experiments is that the way to break past plateaus in your understanding is to do games that at a surface level are extremely silly but that are also physically demanding and also maybe cannibalism.

  6. i restrained myself from sharing this during the movie but i must share it now

  7. Me, cornfield: I’m just calling to see if you guys are waiting listing for transfers Local university hospital: “we are so full and waitlisted we aren’t waitlisting transfers… call back tomorrow?”

“Let us strangle the last king with the guts of the last priest” - Diderot “Let us strangle the last billionaire with the guts of the last AI executive” - 2026 update

  9. Massive information leaks after abysmal megacorp decisions are so fascinating. Like watching a dead whale sink to the bottom of the ocean and have all the starved little creatures below pick apart what remains of the carcass to make good use of it.

Interviewer: Can you explain this gap in your CV? Astronomer: it’s because of dark energy. Or dark matter. Dark something. We need a bigger telescope.

  12. The AuDHD sensory rollercoaster: - Daylight, too bright! - Perfumes, too strong! ... - Getting stabbed a thousand times by a tattoo needle? Way more effective than yoga at getting you meditating.

I'm proud to report that 'AI Doomguy' who/which apparently tries to make 'AI ' play Doom on YouTube has one subscriber. In unrelated news: The YT algorithm can go an off itself

  15. The Nobel Prize for Economics is awarded today. I'll probably get that. Currently 5 hours into a half-completed map I've quoted £50 for. If anyone needs business advice I'll be happy to help (assuming you're not results-driven).

  18. so like you're telling me it's not normal to have a voice that's like the toxic bitch version of yourself that tough love coaches you through the injection like you don't hear some variation on "that's it you're being so good for me" when shoving the needle into your tummy

  20. Oh wow. If Generative Ai and Crypto NFTs would've had taken off at the same time, they would have absolutely imploded each other... Here's a machine that makes shitty images valuable. Here's a machine that makes shitty images cheap. The shitty images on either side are being paid for with compute.

  21. I remember this one ROH iPPV where Kevin Steen got on mic while Eddie Kingston was getting stretchered and as they were maneuvering past the wires he went, “Any second now, the iPPV feed might go out!” Felt somewhat harsh (albeit funny) at that show. Would fit like a GLOVE on this one.

  22. @musketeerfox.bsky.social

Flubber (1997) is hilarious because this guy invented a sapient robot that can feel love, but he's somehow still concerned that he has no scientific legacy.

Dad's glucose sensor failed. He emailed the company. Oh you can't email that to us, you'll have to ring tech support and they'll deal with it. What, you can't be arsed passing his message on to the technical support team? WTF is that all about? He's 80yo.

  24. I always find it hilarious, when watching Dragongate’s English-language feed, that Ho Ho Lun is essentially the color commentator from Major League to Jae’s Uecker. Jae will call the entire match and Ho Ho will occasionally pipe in an “oh!!” or “wow!!” #Wrestlesky

  26. There was a Hercules vs the Amazons movie, I think, and young Ulysses saw something. Hercules says "Ulysses! Tell me that story again!" So Tom Servo says, "OK, ahem... 'Stately, plump Buck Mulligan came from the stairhead...'" The other people I was with had no idea why I was laughing so hard.

  27. AI slop pictures are interesting cause the creator is like "hahaha tricked you into thinking it was real but it was actually just a jape. It was AI generated! Humanity's combined scientific endeavours over millennia contributed to turning our planet's sand into microscopic silicon thinking machines potentially unprecedented within a large cosmic range, and now you have been tricked by this so I can have traffic to my website and get 10p in ads revenue"
