On International Lesbian Day, we celebrate lesbian women and stand up for a simple principle: Everyone should be free to be themselves and love who they love — free from discrimination, exclusion or violence. 🧡

My comment to BBC Oxfordshire on Monday's motion about the EHRC Code of Practice and Trans Rights: www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

  3. I've been kinda obsessed with carabiners lately. I've put together this over-the-shoulder lanyard to hold my keys, my phone, and potentially my water bottle on occasion (for when both my hands are carrying things). I've been trying out different carabiners for this and other things. I was showing my gf a new large carabiner I got for my water bottle and she face palmed and informed me that I'm turning into a "carabiner lesbian". That's a thing apparently. #trans #lesbian

I didn’t fully understand I was gay until the middle of highschool because of how deep in the closet I was. I was clearly attracted to men but whenever I felt it I was like “no no, I’m projecting onto them and that’s why I feel that way” It was until I genuinely dated a man I realized that I was gay

Homophobia is systemic and implicit like all bigotry and oppression but it feels like instead of being challenged, implicit homophobia is almost embraced and that's how we ended up with the 'ironic homophobia' epidemic

  6. It’s a weird thing about transphobia, and (I’m pretty sure) situations like racism and sexism in general. But transphobes are usually very quiet about it. Most of them would deny it. It’s the phone that never rings, the skilled worker who never gets hired, the emails that never come.

  7. like it’s trends, most of the time they don’t even have to be particularly majoritarian trends, it’s just like- what’s a tendency about a group that sticks out to people for some reason and for trans women it’s playing cool games as a trans woman you’re allowed to play bad games, or even stereotypically boyish games, it’s actually 100% legal for someone to buck a trend and not perfectly adhere to an archetype

I had to be told, at 17, that a relative was gay, and she lived with her partner! we had stayed at their house quite a few times. I remember just one high school classmate coming out as bi. I had gay teachers whom I did not know were gay.

Australia may be slightly less institutionally transphobic, but it just sucks to live here in general for innumerable reasons. So the benefits of not living in the UK will be countered by the downsides of having to live in Australia.

  10. "What’s perhaps most striking about these pictures of trans people is just how mundane they are. The person looking at them, cis or trans, sees these images and realizes, however much they didn’t before, that trans people are not mythical creatures, or monsters, but people." - Sandy Allen

  11. @aesthr@wandering.shop

Still shocked by the blatantness of it all. I've seen my fair share of transphobia at workplaces. Heck I was fired once right after speaking up about a coworker's remarks. But having it thrown in my face like this with not even an attempt at disguise, that's new.

Hey there folks, we know you're bombarded with surveys about what it's like to be trans, but we reckon that if there's one survey worth filling in, it's this one by TransActual. It's the Trans Lives Survey 2026, and it's open now: form.typeform.com/to/BRppksJ3

  13. @lydy.bsky.social

I don't know how important this is, but it seems like it might be relevant to the trans rights discussion: I think that a lot of people 50 and younger do not remember when no one was gay. I am 64, and I was raised in a conservative household, and I absolutely remember this.

  14. I'm a trans woman. I also grew up on Harry Potter. I haven't touched that vile woman's media in more than a decade. But something about this image brought back the pain of betrayal, of losing something dear to me that kept me company during really hard parts of my childhood. It's just not fair.

  15. In case you’re wondering what kinds of nightmares plague masc lesbians: I had a nightmare last night that I was in a bridal party (already in hell), and for some reason, we didn’t go to pick up our attire from the bridal shop until the day of the wedding, and for some reason I hadn’t pre-ordered my attire, so I was just wandering the bridal shop trying to look for something suitable to wear (2nd level of hell), and the only clothes in the whole shop that fit me were flannel shirts and my friends thought that I was making shit up because I didn’t want to wear anything other than flannel (which is always true). I was so relieved when I woke up 😮‍💨 #lesbian #gnc #nonbinary getmona.app/rich_text/76667366…

  16. Dear Nicole, my Infant Self, This is your Adult Self speaking to you. There are many things that you should know about yourself. You were AFAB (assigned female at birth). Throughout your childhood, you will be experiencing different things as you grow older. You will start off playing with Barbie & Hello Kitty dolls, playing pretend and tea party with your stuffed animals, and even putting on your mom’s makeup behind her back. medium.com/prismnpen/letter-in… #LGBTQ #Nonbinary #Identity #LetterToMyself

a recent conversation made me realize I actually don't talk a lot about my intersex experience on here puberty was fun, I thought I was a guy for the longest time, finished out high school looking like a 6ft cis woman with facial hair kinda forces you to reevaluate your life, heh

  18. WRONG - anti-LGBT sentiment is manufactured because it is necessary to distract us from the real villians of the story, the RICH. We won't stop this shit until we remove the rampant wealth inequality. That is the only cure. Get rid of the rich, take media companies out of their control and into the hands of coops. Everything else is pissing in the wind.

Baby trans girl with ally friends who are cis women. You will, in fact, go through a period where everyone of them will go "Ladies first" and open the door for you. Every. Single. One of them.

< Aggy > I think people who don't like my complicated feelings towards transition and the way I gender certain parts of my body should all try being a trans person who is unable to transition the way they want to not because of the government or their finances but because of their actual physical body, where everyone insists that their inability to transition is actually a part of their queerness.

  • @ciricegray.itch.io

Realizing that I was a "high functioning" neurodivergent CPTSD person for a long time. That went away when I came out as a trans woman and that intersection became too heavy, because I was once "functioning" I have a lot of trouble shaking this feeling that it's my fault that I lost everything.

  • @lena.isextremely.gay

Any time a medical form asks for my sex and says "sex at birth," I say "female" Because otherwise everything gets coded for male ranges, the system balks at approving screening mammograms, etc. I've already been fucked by this with pre-transition providers! This is why I can no longer give blood

  • @lunahbat.bsky.social

If you being your real self loses you relationships, that’s no loss at all. You deserve to be accepted and loved for who you actually are, not a projection of what you believe is acceptable to someone else.

  • Fixed that issue. Stop acting like you can operate in a profession that is a tool of our shared oppression without fall out. You can’t be a cop or in ICE and expect to reason your way into our community by virtue of being trans.

  • the government will list trans people as explicit and sexual for dari g to exist meanwhile sports gambling ads can have naked women advertising them and thats ok and normal
