[3/4] condemning the evil values of these right-wing extremists and refusing to tolerate atrocities by Australian soldiers. If I were Australian, I would not support a plutocratist party overall. Plutocratist policies are driving the non-rich into penury. But I have to admire Hastie's adamant support for the laws of war. The other soldier was not prosecuted for murder. Rather, he sued, for defamation, those who reported on the murders. He lost the case because the judge ruled that the

I hate to say it, but other people running pull requests through Claude seem to be finding a low rate of simple errors that the authors may have missed. The hit rate is low (around 15% success rate by bullet item, i.e. 85% false positives), and I haven’t seen *anything* that couldn’t have been caught by a peer reviewer reading the diff. I’m not sold on #AI for PR review because it’s mostly noise and takes time to read, but it *does* call out a low rate of common bugs that code authors may glaze over. It *does not* replace a human reviewer who can comment on design and architecture, and could also catch those same errors. But it *does* have a small success rate. I guess if you code alone, it’s better than nothing. But so is a rubber duck.

  4. Season 2 of Dark Matter: what a mess. Can’t tell who is who, no idea what’s going on. The one positive note: At least they’re trying to explain the many weird coincidences by working them into the story. But still: Lost vibes danger zone…

  5. Really tired of people who lack the scientific nuance to be able to point out the benefits of the COVID vaccines without going so far as to misrepresent them or downplay that they *DO NOT PREVENT YOU FROM CATCHING OR SPREADING THE VIRUS OR BEING DISABLED LONG-TERM*.

Im so tired of trans infighting. "This subset group is why we aren't taken seriously" No. We aren't taken seriously, because those trying to cast us out can't imagine someone with a lived experience different than their own. And apparently neither can half of you?? It's just so frustrating to watch.

  8. Mastodon is a great idea, but it has a fatal flaw: authoritarianism. Mods and admins are free to censor posts and users on a whim, and far too many of them seem eager to do so. I want to see a social media service–it could even be a Mastodon instance–which is run democratically, so that deletions and bans are put up to the vote of all participants. Dictatorships suck, and that includes ONLINE dictatorships! #Mastodon #SocialMedia

  9. I suppose the obvious point of difference is that climate change will impact women disproportionately Men tend to be more egocentric (for whatever nature/nurture reasons), but I think we should feel empowered to call out these untouchable creeps who deny or delay www.ft.com/content/6111...

  10. What is interesting about these BOT accounts is not so much that they exist, especially in a time of war, but that the content that must be conveyed to the gullible audience is such complete and utter drivel. Dmitry Peskov should find better representation for his earth shattering press release. #Russia

I love listening to James O'Brien when I need to catch up on UK political news, but as far as the UK's concerned, we're in a very dark place when it comes to the safety of POCs. I mean listen to my fellow *English* POCs (fuck off Suella Braverman with your internalised racism) during some of these phone calls. They are absolutely frightened, and they should be unfortunately. A sort of madness has struck the country, as if the spirit of an old, defeated enemy is possessing the minds of the vulnerable. #ukpol #uk youtu.be/2CUbyroBJns

My favourite bit is where “extra lines of code” are touted as productivity gains in software development. No real developer thinks that just producing more code is meaningful. It has to translate to what the customer gets eg more features, less bugs. Thankfully the article points out that the actual returns are marginal.

Like, I found a copy of the Goodman Games archival reissue of Temple of Elemental Evil and it's clear that they have *no idea* what it is they're doing. It's mostly a cleaned up re-issue of the original module with an uninspired 5e adaptation hanging out the back. Then it's some undigested archival material and then some interviews, but does it involve anyone who actually worked on the project at the time? No. The closest is an interview with one of the artists but it's about their career

We are in a different moment, economically. Back then, earning user confidence was necessary to sell the product. And, in the world of dial-up, most people had multiple vendors to choose from. Nowadays, because of regulatory capture, one maybe has one or two broadband vendors available, and they (usually) all suck because always-on internet is a necessary utility for a middle-class household. So, it's all rent-seeking and cutting costs, which often means intentionally sacrificing quality.

But she sold off the family silver privatising swathes of British industry and squandering North Sea oil and crippling rather than subduing union power. She encouraged greed and the loadza money society.

Yes AI driven game mods will be HUGE - then games will be entirely AI driven, then movies. There will be expnsive bespoke 'human made' options but they'll be the exception. Our media will mostly be GenAI shotly. This all ends terribly poorly I'm afraid.
