Earlier today I discovered this game has an INCREDIBLE quality-of-life feature: you can choose to launch directly to your most recent save. No company / studio splash screens. No menus. You hit "Play" from Steam and within seconds you're right where you left off in-game. (Not sure if console versions also have this?) Now THAT is how to respect a player's time!

It's hard to explain cause these are such nebulous terms, but it's very important for me that an art piece feels "animated" particularly the figures, and everything reinforcing that. To the point that even if the lineart fulfills that, the painting could take away from it.

  3. I'm still in the "I'd rather use text-based programming languages than a visual editor for the majority of the stuff" camp (even this very simple stuff I did turns into an "I need to zoom out to find which nodes to connect" mess). However, drag-and-drop editing with zero setup is pretty convenient. And I guess the more important thing is that "programming language pretending to be something else" can be very attractive for people who consider themself non-programmers.

My favorite thing about #stetpet is getting to see everyone's pets (a thing I always want to see) AND getting to see their job description. I just love seeing them get recognition for a job well done. Even if (or especially when) the job is exceedingly unhelpful. Give them scritches from me please

  5. Two thoughts: - How messed up is it that the audit and counterintelligence folks took so long to pick up on this? - How bad is CIA spy training such that if they give this guy $200M he can't figure out how to vanish into a new identity and squander that money in peace? The real DOGE scandal here is that the US intel community is paying far too much for ineffective clandestine officer training

I don’t think you can replace Chuck without having a HOF fill the seat. two hall of famers, a champion, and a journalist—all with personalities is the winning formula. I like Rose but don’t Inside the NBA is about the analysis, it’s more like the mannings cast.

Why can't we put the character in the middle of the screen anymore. Why do I have one third of the screen permanently covered by the back of puppet that learned how to walk from Garry's Mod youtube poops.

Kougami's place in OOO is such a fun little wrinkle. He's basically shinra? Like so much is tied up in the fact that he's using eiji as a lapdog just as much as ankh is and you always get this sort of sense that things could go so much easier if not for his vested interest in Letting Things Play Out

Really wish the WSGI and ASGI specs were better at saying what the responsibilities of the server vs the app are. For example, is the app (framework) responsible for ensuring a 304 response doesn't have a body, or is the server? Since it's not specified, technically both sides have to do it since neither know how the other side decided to interpret things. gunicorn and hypercorn remove a 304 body, but granian and daphne don't. #python #flask

The thing is, I think iPlayer already works really well. I can find stuff, I get recommendations of things I might like, it’s all good. It’d be helpful to have one button access from my remote - but otherwise I think it’s the cleanest most logical streaming service atm.

Did you know if we had heavier taxes on corporate profits it might encourage corporations on investing in better goods and services and hiring more staff at higher wages to reduce taxable profits. It would discourage enshittification

"When did books become political" Uhhhhh probably when Plato decided to write "The Republic" in (checks calendar) 380 BC. Idk why people suddenly dont think books and reading can (and should) be political.

Does anyone have any good audiobook recommends? I normally read miserable books about mentally ill women having a breakdown or "intelligent" sci-fi type stuff where people with guns have arguments about politics. I'm not going to read Dungeon Crawler Piss

I need help with #Sims4 Detective Career. After issuing an APB, no Sims are loading into that lot, just other Sims turning up from other various places in the world - none are my suspect. Does anyone have a suggestion to fix or try to do with the career so I can complete it?
