Sometimes you’re having a bad day then you see your friends getting excited about music you got them into!

Tōru Takemitsu was born otd, 8 October 1930, in Tokyo. He was largely self-taught and became one of Japan’s most important composers of contemporary classical music, writing both concert pieces and film scores.
went to chance the rapper last night (listen it’s a long story) and ended up standing next to person that had the exact same story about the blessings remix. exchanged info and everything. show was cheeseball at points but a much more interesting crowd than i expected.

I've got a track on this great 3rd volume of the Superpang: World Tour compilations, out now. Proceeds from the 3 albums go to Médecins Sans Frontières, with over €900 raised so far. My track revisits the NESS brass sounds of Yield Point from some years ago. superpang.bandcamp.com/album/superp...
He's choosin' Texas is a stupid song. I can't believe it set the record for most weeks at number one in America. No wonder I'm stuck in the early '90s and prior in terms of music.
Okay, I'm gonna say it. As a DIY label, the fact that we got to help release a @jesusjonesband.bsky.social song is crazy to us. The physical copies of Loser Babies is probably the most limited item in their discography ever. Don't sleep on it! afewgoodrecords.bandcamp.com/album/loser-...
I like how the only reason I can tell I'm getting better at making music is that it's taking me less time to make something actually good. Like it took me an hour and a half to make a draft that sounded good when it used to make like... 4 hours.
Artms was great :youngeunthumb: They went all in on sexy concepts for this concert. The setlist was full of slow sexy songs. Jungeunie aegyo princess of course couldn't help herself and was constantly doing cute things though :wonkekw: I was hoping she would have hair extensions in since she cut off her beautiful hair but no.. Yerim had to perform eclipse in her place since Jungeun can't do the hair flips :chuukek2:
I’m beginning to think this might be what the second album was missing. It brings something I hadn’t quite realised was absent. I’m wondering whether to include it. And whether that might mean the album is finally ready. #musicsky #indieartists #folk #singersongwriter #womeninmusic #discovermusic
One band with David Jackson (Van Der Graaf Generator) and one with John Hackett ( ex- Steve Hackett band) and they are just the most well-known members! At this price for the two bands how can you NOT go? Ticket link and further info >geoffreytucker42.wixsite.com/s…
Suno was willing to generate Christian rock about how data centers are just as much a part of the family as the family dog but it wouldn’t put in lyrics endorsing the DNC
Smushing Pups was good fun. Loud and artful.
This has me hopeful that a MV is coming soon for their song, "Take Me With You", a tune with a very 80s vibe. #AtarashiiGakko youtube.com/watch?v=RNA_WPPctQ4
i realized i had a song for an album that i only want to release after every other album i want to release and i decided i just needed to put it out. and if/when i ever get to the Final album in the Roleplaying Discography it'll be with a new recording of that song
Another great album of pop experimentia from Persica 3 ✨️✨️✨️
Ah c'mon now how heavy does your death metal taste really go though, it's not Nile but it does go... m.youtube.com/watch?v=Gt4u18UW…
Tonight! I'm probably going to start around 20 minutes early and play some new demos for my pre-roll, since they don't fit the theme. Likely do that all month, honestly, because I'm at the "obsessively listening to demos" stage. Starting soon at: twitch.tv/doorsinthela...

#Vancouver #Industrial band #SkinnyPuppy’s 1988 album VIVIsectVI was lauded by critic #BradleyTorreano as “one of their true masterpieces” & critic #BrettCallwood called it ‘genre-defining, the group really hits their stride’- the deeper cut “VX Gas Attack” was a Starck fave youtu.be/_pgZEUW8pGc
TIL: There's an archive of episodes of MTV's "120 Minutes" -- IYKYK. Nurtured my taste in music for sure, indispensable. altmusictv.com/
Streaming sucks shit. The convenience isn’t worth it for you, and it’s horrible for artists. Buy music.
Craighall Park, Johannesburg. On my way to either the Jozi Trail or Delta Park I walked down Jan Smuts Drive, past that music shop I told you about. Always new Musos....17 December 2021 youtu.be/ohtXPuh8Qj8 #music #artist #artysta #هنرمند
That’s very tough. Lots of good covers out there. But… Dan Avidan has the voice of an angel and he did this song better than original artists A-ha themselves did. youtu.be/fCe2bTtKCJg
Speaking as one who spent fifteen years doing backstage work I endorse and approve the following video: Sing Faster - The Stagehand's Ring Cycle vimeo.com/406004813
I like how I'm trying to get into the habit of liking songs and shuffling all of them so I can diversify my day to day listening more and even then it's going "So I heard you like power metal"
In Pieces, a romantic musical by the hugely talented Jose Contreras, has sold so well that its run at The Other Palace has been extended. 6 Feb - 21 March. Check out the highlights on YouTube
RUDIMENTAL, ORIGINAL KOFFEE & WINNY – UK D&B heavyweights enlist Jamaican vocalist Mikayla Simpson & Nigerian singer Winny Adanu for “Send Shots” (Jungle VIP). Something I noticed during last night's TISM gig. They've changed the chorus to "Aussiemandias" so it no longer contains the N-word. Good on 'em.

sooooo i’ve very purposefully not told my therapist about gaylor but then…. she made a comment about the new songs and I couldn’t physically stop myself bc we’ve built this space where I tell her anything and everything and I did it super quick at the end and sent her the powerpoint

Driving to Toronto this morning - have chosen from Apple Music The Beatles’ Rubber Soul 2026 Deluxe Edition - the album plus three discs’ worth of extra tracks I’m going to be hearing for the first time - this should be entertaining!
"Thank you! We are Sex Beluga! And here is a little ditty from our new album Tales of Wind and Snow! Its called Polar Bear Underwear! -sick lute riff-
#nowplaying #vinyl 🎵 Al Stewart - Nostradamus (1974) vs. 🎵 Manfred Mann's Earth Band - Eyes of Nostradamus (1982) Al Stewart's original is refined and academic while MMEB's cover adds some feral energy with villainous delivery
IMO Electric Callboy is great wedding reception music.
New album review!!! Let's talk about a very ambitious album from The Tangent: Was I have some big thoughts about it, and end the video with a chat about putting your music behind a paywall in the year of our Lord 2026! Fun times! youtu.be/Mde1y3Y_yKk
New "discovery" today, thanks to #RadioParadise : steadyholiday.bandcamp.com/ Steady Holiday, if you want to be melancholy and happy at the same time. Good stuff. Neat voice. #Music #NowPlaying #steadyHoliday
First time I heard the Metallica song "The Thing That Should Not Be," I misheard the line "Hunter of the Shadows is rising" as "Hunter of the Shadows on rye bread." Still my favorite misheard lyric, AND my favorite sandwich!
ICYMI: Fugue and Fantasy - Stan Stewart band.codes/muz4now/fugue-and-f…
My favorite album by my favorite band is a collection of Vic Chestnutt songs. They also handle Townes Van Zandt quite well
My wife said she would be out of her K-pop phase a few weeks ago Turns out she took a tiny break I think she is back in more than ever
If I had to choose a favorite cover of Queen’s Bohemian Rhaspody, it would be a tie between the covers done by both “Weird Al Yankovic” & The Braids. Although the former is moreso performed as a gag song, I’m still counting it as a cover.
I think I could quite happily live out the rest of my life without ever hearing any lofi music ever again. A thousand deaths upon those who use it as the continuous looping background to their youtube videos.
