Satantango by 2025 Nobel Literature Prize winner László Krasznahorkai (which I read last year) features spiders, spider webs, ghostly bells, collective dreaming, also continuous rain, lust, drunkenness and despair. “So amazingly bleak that it’s often quite funny,” said the Guardian.

I recently got Part 2 of DC Finest's Crisis on Infinite Earths collection, and seeing this panel from #5 reminds me that the appeal of these busy images filled with hundreds of characters isn't that far off from Martin Handford's "Where's Wally/Waldo" books.

wanderhome's furry setting uses large insects to fill the role of animals, livestock, etc.; there are also sparing mentions of cicada emergence events. taken together this seems to imply that sometimes you're trying to go on a therapeutic walk but everything is screaming bugs the size of motorcycles
Content warningWon’t someone discuss the Iliad with me?!
Ok is anyone on here into the #classics or #hellenism? Cause what is the deal with Achilles? Like, he seems to operate in a totally different social context from everyone else. 1. He’s the only man who expresses any sense of like “why would I fight in this war? My life has value” 2. When he does fight he’s fucking bonkers 3. Then he does these games where he resolves all these conflicts peacefully, makes sure everyone feels valued, which doesn’t seem like a thing anyone else sees as worth doing Or am I misreading? Totally possible. But he seems like an enigmatic figure to me, not just an angry pouting rage-aholic. Also if there are good scholarly discussions of him as a character I would love a source or two! #literature #ancientGreece
Midnight X-Men is a great first issue with an amazing hook, great action, and some set up that makes me excited to see where this story goes. Also feels like they forgot to add the infographics Hickman is famous for, but they definitely kept the script for one.
Bit late to the party here but The Correspondent is pretty good, isn't it. Certainly feel inspired to barge my way into an English Literature seminar
Just read a post saying fiction about bad people has to show them feeling bad for being bad or else it's bad writing and wow did I hit that block button fast.
