On what I was going to call "a lighter note" before realizing it really isn't, I just finished Chris Jennings's sweeping END OF DAYS, about Ruby Ridge and the apocalyptic faith that fueled it. I really enjoyed it! It's a great look at the conspiracy-brained history of this country.

This book is very good, totally accessible to anyone with no pre-requisite readings, and is available as an audiobook on all the usual platforms (including Libby and Hoopla). If you wanna know how we got from Nixon to Trump, I can’t think of a better book to orient you to the US counterrevolution
