How it works

The Steam Deck was a very beta product, but the Steam Frame makes the deck look like Steve Jobs himself signed off on the release. This thing is barely usable. The control mapping flat out *does not work*.

Seems like YouTube did some A/B testing on me. That experiment was annoying. Having the subscribed channels button easily available is better than hiding it behind scrolling view as a small text link — that was bad. Good that they decided to return to the previous UI. Please don’t do that again.

@tangentnotes Hi Tangent folks. Just today I installed Tangent on my Linux desktop. Early days for me yet, but I think you are on the right track. I have tried Obsidian and Logseq, but I feel Tangent is the ,most intuitive to use. Thanks, developers, for the good work so far!

  5. There are things that should "just work". Sadly, #Apple decides they won't. I need to "jump to date" in calendar very often. While the year/month/week zoom-out / zoom-in in #MacOS calendar makes it quite quick, I will never understand why search simply doesn't just do the jump? Similarly: The "go to date" functionality is eeeeh, borderline useless? Can't paste (at all).

i've always been perplexed by all the browser features that help you organize your tabs or something. i suppose it's one of the only functional differentiating features you can add to a browser. but like, i've never had trouble "keeping track" of what web pages i currently have open. and i've never found "bookmarks" to be a 'problem' that needs solving. URLs are just strings, you can do whatever with them, you can paste them into a text file even. they're almost self-organizing

ISC is pleased to announce the release of Stork 2.4.2, the latest stable version of our graphical management interface for Kea DHCP and BIND 9. There are no new features in this version; the only change is an update to the Golang, Angular, and PrimeNG dependencies. Please visit our downloads page at isc.org/download for links to the source code, packages, and documentation for the latest releases. Thank you for using ISC’s software.

  8. I hate the "we can't implement this very reasonable adjustment because the software we use to manage the system doesn't allow us to do so" excuse. If the software you are using (which, let's admit it, is just a crappy database with a ugly UI) is not suitable for the task, you should just use a different software. #AcademicRant

Loved seeing the @fedideck demo from @phillycodehound. The tooling to take in more and more of the Fediverse are really taking shape.
