How it works

  1. I had my social care domiciliary care assessment yesterday. When they tried to push remote care for part of it, it was weird as pre-HRT, pre-lithium me would have had a meltdown, but now it's like whatever. If this happened to someone else I'd be furious, but for me, I feel incredibly removed.

  2. I had to wake up super early today to see my girlfriend to the hospital to get face surgery, then come home for back to back meetings, and then I'll have to go right after for a visit to the hospital. What a day.

Very true. After 11 years, I still sometimes catch myself lamenting, that I "can no longer" do everything I did before burnout. Then, I remind myself, that I never should have done those things in the first place because they were part of the reason I ended up with a massive burnout.

I have a routine appointment today. I’d planned to revoke permission to use the ai transcription- I’ve noticed weird inaccuracies that while not critical are concerning. On top of all the other AI woes. Now I’m just more depressed about medicine in this country. And I really LIKE my doctor. She’s great. But doing notes that way is insane. federate.social/@jik/117390087…

The SBC and the benefits calculator are both very squirrelly about what my coverage is for durable medical equipment (a CPAP). I think it's 100% covered, but if I hit my out of pocket limit, the cost line just says "cost varies".

  11. i used to joke that the roaring 20s woulda been so lit getting weed tinctures at the same pharmacy you get amphetamines as a 'nasal decongestant' but now in the 2020s its kinda sad that everything is grey-legal weed and opioid stores and gas station heroin and gambling and AI and more gambling

I woke up this morning with a burst blood vessel in my eye and it doesn't hurt or anything but it looks so gnarly that I don't want anyone to have to look at it. (I wore glasses during tele-therapy because it hid it a little so I didn't have to look at it.)

Do “24 hour” pharmacies actually exist in the UK? All of the ones listed near me either (a) don’t exist, as in: appear to be a Google Maps data error, or (b) are in 24-hour Asda stores, but close at 8pm.

And to bitch further, the tooth they pulled out seems to hurt. They inserted a bone graft that I have to be careful of for three months, but it feels weird to put my tongue there and I can’t chew on that side of my mouth still because I haven’t been chewing on it for years now. I wonder how much the post for the hurt.

  29. Doctors do not throw the term “brain death” around. There is specific criteria that must be met and it is irreversible damage. Removal of life support by medical providers can only be done in the event of brain death, otherwise it is at the discretion of the patient’s next of kin or POA.
