How it works

  1. I’ve been in a lot of physical pain recently due to travel & a general flare up One helpful technique is to focus all my brain on wiggling my toes. Feeling the texture of what they touch. Really paying attention to one part of my body. The pain fades out for a brief moment & I have control.

in my experience, when i was younger and would actually go days without sleeping, the body will eventually collect its sleep debt whether you want it or not,,,, it's a matter of whether you give it the sleep it needs at a convenient regular time, or it Takes the sleep it needs in broad daylight

2 miles today for the first time (3.182km) which was pleasing. I reckon I could run a full 5k now, but I’m building up to it carefully, as I want to avoid injury.

The highlight of my Diabetes clinic checkup was the doctor going through my history "And everything seems normal and - Wait what's this about a rabies exposure on mine 15th?"

  9. friends if you think you might want abortion pills in the next two years, the best time to buy them really is today, you don't need to be pregnant. @plancpills.bsky.social can direct you to the proper sources in your state. (2 years is the storage window for 1 of the pills, not a prediction)

Tv and cartoons always lead me to believe kidney stones only hurt when you’re passing them I was unaware that it hurts WAY before that AND IT HURTS, SO BAD

Okay actually I don't like finding out magnesium deficiency can kill you the hard way, to be honest, and once more skipping the queue at a very busy ER/ED is not actually as much fun as it sounds. :/ I also feel bad for everyone else suffering who is like 'why do THEY get admitted immediately.'

Today was hospice intake for Dad. And a GI oncology visit (where they said he is not a candidate for surgery, and they don’t biopsy appendixes anyway). I am a mixture of many emotions. He is staying with us from now on, whatever that looks like.

For all the bellyaching I did a while back about medicating for ADHD (dubiously diagnosed by a PCP instead of a psych no less) I am glad I had it to lean on for work this week.

Drove my car to pick up the family in town today. First time I've driven since Feb. I'm still a mess. Driving a mile has worn me out as if I ran a mile in the heat. Still need to nap every day or I start to crash again but better than before. #mecfs #longcovid

If sleeping is the time your brain spends processing your experiences and feelings from the day, I think 80% of my insomnia is my brain just saying 'absolutely not'.

I woke up in the middle of the night after having not done my workout for the third day in a row so I did it because shame. I’m doing body weight workouts while the food processor blade slice in my thumb heals. I’m pretty sure I’m actually dead now so going back to sleep shouldn’t be a problem.

  23. chronic pain sucks. like. i've been dealing with it for years but it never gets better. sure, i can tolerate more pain than most people, but that doesn't make it hurt less. i'm just better at functioning while in pain i can guess many would go to the emergency room for.
