"Joel" sent this vid of farm workers harvesting tomatoes in Gilroy CA. They earn 93¢/25lb bucket. Pickers carry two buckets as that allows them to work quicker. Walking over the uneven terrain with this heavy weight puts a lot of strain on their body. #WeFeedYou
"Rosalia" is a farmworker in Santa Maria, CA. "We live in constant fear of immigration raids as it doesn't matter if we have papers or not. They target us for having brown skin. We are not criminals; we are essential workers who put the food on America's tables." #WeFeedYou
The negotiating committee of Monterey Mushrooms Morgan Hills signing their new UFW contract saying, "We had significant salary increases that will help us balance the cost of living we face in Santa Clara and San Benito counties. We are pleased with what we achieved." #WeFeedYou
Our ancestors began like this💝For us.
Why do Americans refuse to give our agricultural workers, our farm workers, the absolute respect, gratitude and fair benefits that all the rest of us receive?
I'm still waiting on the MAGA crowd doing these jobs
Safeway in Northern California is currently selling one individual Roma tomato for $0.75 each, or $2.99 a lb. So 25 pounds of tomatoes are “worth” $74.75 retail, at least, today, in stores near Gilroy. Of that, only $0.93 cents went to the person that picked the tomato.

Search looks through the last 36 hours of public posts for your words, "exact phrases", #hashtags, @handles and websites, and also finds posts about the same thing by meaning. New posts join about every 10 minutes. We only include posts whose authors allow logged-out viewing (Bluesky) or search (Mastodon, indexable accounts), and we re-check Bluesky authors each time we show a page. Likes and follower counts never decide the order. For meaning matches, query text is turned into a fingerprint on Wildroot’s own server (EmbeddingGemma-300M); it is never sent to another service. Wildroot does not save query text to disk. Looking for posts like one you have? Similar posts. How to opt out.
