It was never clear to me as a kid how ten green bottles could hang on a wall, - whether there was some kind of hook or loop system going on etc - but now I’m wondering whether “hanging” means, you know, like, hanging out, although I’m not sure that sense of the word existed in Olden Days (morning)

  2. Bob and I are truly creatures of habit. I take the left side of the couch bolstered by back pillows he takes the other, sitting on back pillows, I sleep on the left side of the bed, he sleeps on the pillows on the right. We have a very settled sort of existence together. He’s just become my little right hand man.

  3. I've been satisfied with playing almost everything on Steam Deck, but lately I've kinda wanted something a bit more lightweight and portable to emulate handheld stuff, as I end up putting them off since it feels strange to play them docked on a big TV, or hell even in handheld with how heavy and bulky it is

A big (double) rainbow on last night's dog walk. The dog was not particularly impressed but I stopped to take a picture!

Hadn't seen ISS in an eon, so decided to catch it this evening. After setting up in a clear-ish spot among the trees at our place, I went for a clearer view of the horizon to see when it was climbing, then decided that would be a better viewpoint, so hastily moved the tripod. Meh. Not enuf time. 🔭

My lovely wife has been reading about OCD to try and understand my new diagnosis, and she told me i should read about it too, and i was like "I'm scared if i read about it I'll manage to somehow give myself symptoms i didn't already have" And she fucking put a hand on my shoulder and said, "babe... That fear is in here as an OCD symptom"

some notes on performing at October AlgoRhythms: - is the event like a bright star - slowly shrinking but becoming more brilliant as it does so? - white dwarf future or supernova? - I had in mind a list of three tracks that I had previously written, a couple in last week, one from august - I couldn't find one of them, but eventually did - great dancing by the audience, that was a real buzz - in my code-jay-ing comfort zone, making use of midi controller to add variation - this breaks my streak of about three from-scratch solo performances - i'm not sure if i'll ever be able to code fast, I don't come up with ideas the same way under pressure, can't think straight on stage mostly - didn't look up enough despite telling Chau that I was intending to shortly before starting - played the last track backwards somehow hehe but it was all good - was fun to perform with Chau on vis as always : )

Olen viettänyt paljon aikaa 🇫🇮 medioiden odotus huoneissa, joissa pääosin on nähtävissä että poliitikot arvostavat maamme medioita ja toimittajien ammattimaisuutta; vaalien alla tunku ruutuun on merkittävä. Sen takia vihastuttaa nähdä mitä poliittiset päätökset tekevät mediakentällemme.

I bought an OPNsense router back in 2023 when I had my own internet, and it was easy to setup because my ISP modem at the time (AT&T) didn't have restrictive or abstracted settings for configuring a secondary router in passthrough mode. When I moved back in with my parents, my ISP made it extremely difficult to use anything but their own equipment, so I just let the OPNsense router sit unused in a cabinet.

I recently cancelled my Comcast Xfinity internet service and am now using my parents', which is in the same house but just on their own network. I've been thinking about ways to keep my network devices logically separated from my parents' and other family members' devices, and I stumbled upon an article on how to do that with my OPNsense router without putting my parents' modem/router in bridge mode. It's always a win when I can use technology I paid good money for but for whatever reason haven't been using. homenetworkguy.com/how-to/use-…

I just answered the door after doing my morning Sjogrens care session, and there's still eyedrop excess going down my cheeks So now a random delivery driver gets to wonder why I was crying for the rest of his day. Good for him.

🦊we've actually been tired of gamemaker for the longest time and wanted to make our own engine, but after blobun didn't sell well it became clear that the priority should just be to stick with what we know and come out with something else fast. turns out nonogram games are HARD to make right lmao

    Content warningmh~, plural

Therapist said something about being genuine and authentic, even in tough subjects, especially around system mechanics and #plurality I was realizing that it might be a matter of survival. If I'm not acting as myself, if I am routinely and consistently masking, that fucks *me* up, eroding the self concept and patterns of thought that define 'me', as opposed to Richter or Witch. I think that it's true for everyone that masking is corrosive; My system just less resistance than usual.

  17. Had a realisation today. The thing where I rush around and always look super busy is actually a bit of a defence mechanism against actually having to do small talk etc. Hadn’t even realised I was doing that.

  18. When I worked with PCS back then (side gig), my superpower was — unlike most comics bloggers — I had zero interest in working in the industry. I was just a revitalized fan who ended up finding a community I clicked with. It helped me avoid so many hassles, and when my passion eventually faded, I just moved on because I could. Randomly ending up in the industry (kinda) years later was totally unexpected, and it definitely made things harder at times. I don't regret it, but I'm glad to move on.

  21. Poor Joule. The monthly test of the tornado siren in the little park next door to our yard is occurring. It is deafening. Joule ran in and lay down at my feet. The noise is actually louder in this room than elsewhere in the house because it faces out onto the park. Ah well, another minute and it will be over until next month (unless there's a tornado before then).

Tried Aion 2. Steam says it doesn't support controller, but it does. Not great support but workable; I can't see a way to rebind buttons. Spent way too much time making a much too dramatic Ranger chick and hardly any time PLAYING of course cuz... its me. :)

Groaning under the chores this morning I throw the clothes into the washing machine and hit the button and turn to the next chore. As I do so I suddenly think of my great-grandmother who lived on a simple little farm and had to wash the clothes by hand and with water carried from a nearby stream. Suddenly I stop groaning as I realise how easy I have it. I kick myself in my butt and straighten up and the sun starts shining and the day looks dead easy.

Oh dear...I seem to be falling back into that trap of reading books that are famous films again, even if I haven't seen the film. Most of the books I've read this year have nothing to do with films, honest. I guess I just post about the film related ones here because I know my audience 🤣
