May she take her place among the stars, and rest in peace amongst them. May her legacy continue to inspire young girls and women to reach for the cosmos!
And yes, there are people who have suggested that I use "not caring about things as a shield." That's almost as stupid as telling me that I was hiding something by talking about Charles Schulz's Peanuts when I was turning ten years old. That summer when I was told that by "an employee of the system," my grandmother told me to focus on the good memories, which was kind, but not a normal thing to tell someone just turning ten. That evening, I couldn't eat the soup at a local restaurant because it "was Trinitas soup," "Trinitas" being the hospital where I had to attend a program then.

I started cracking my knuckles in stress that summer. When I was turning nine, I began cracking my jaw and doing something that I referred to as "thinking and swallowing." I also developed Bell's palsy from stress when I was turning nine. When I was turning eight, my mother practically begged to buy me one of the first Pokemon games because of how depressed I was. She tried so hard to get me to see the first Pokemon movie because it "was what the other kids were doing." It took until I did things on my own at nearly the age of 21 to even begin to stop "thinking and swallowing." While society, culture, and socialization have always SUCKED (if you ask me), and it's in large part because of that that I don't do nostalgia, that doesn't mean that I can't have fun! FYI, my father took me to the local amusement center when I was nine years old. There, I played Star Wars Racer Arcade once and Star Wars: Episode I Pinball a whole lot. I'll always appreciate that even if my father and I couldn't agree on some very important matters. I had a "friend" in the past who couldn't understand that not everyone "felt happy watching cartoons as a child." He told me, "Yeah, everyone did that!" I then tried to explain, and he told me that I "decided to feel traumatized by cartoons," telling me that like it was a question.
Giving myself permission to drink the Peach Lemonade Acai infusions at an uneven rate from the other two flavors, because I love that flavor the most!! I dunno, I think my strictness in going through them evenly is probably weird and from my OCD and being raised by at least one OCD parent lmao
In case you’re wondering what kinds of nightmares plague masc lesbians: I had a nightmare last night that I was in a bridal party (already in hell), and for some reason, we didn’t go to pick up our attire from the bridal shop until the day of the wedding, and for some reason I hadn’t pre-ordered my attire, so I was just wandering the bridal shop trying to look for something suitable to wear (2nd level of hell), and the only clothes in the whole shop that fit me were flannel shirts and my friends thought that I was making shit up because I didn’t want to wear anything other than flannel (which is always true). I was so relieved when I woke up 😮💨 #lesbian #gnc #nonbinary getmona.app/rich_text/76667366…
My friend is insistent the “Your Move” in the English opening to Yugioh is “Yamu”
I haven't drawn with a tablet in like ~5 years lol, this is harder to do than I remember.
sooooo i’ve very purposefully not told my therapist about gaylor but then…. she made a comment about the new songs and I couldn’t physically stop myself bc we’ve built this space where I tell her anything and everything and I did it super quick at the end and sent her the powerpoint
This afternoon's writing session resulted in another 203 words added to the story in progress, as well as yet another working title — my fourth or fifth, I think. Any one of them would do, but a title can't merely do — it has to call out to me as the only possible title for that particular story.
Good night or good day, wherever you are. :)
A mixed weather situation, with severe-storm warnings nearby, but not for us here in Ottawa proper (just to the north west). Just back from grocery chopping and noticed some rare mammatus clouds hovering over the west end. Neat! #Ottawa #weatherReport
thinking about how my 8 1/2 year old dog still probably thinks of me by my deadname, because he used to react to people calling it before I fully came out a little while ago. not very woke of him
A proper mixed transport day! 🚆⛴️🚋 Merseyrail into Liverpool, then the new Mersey Ferry, Royal Daffodil, across the river. From there, it was onto a TransPennine Express train to Manchester. Once in the city, I jumped on a couple of the electric buses for a ride around the city centre. Then it was time for a tram before heading back to Liverpool, again with TPE. Trains, ferry, buses and a tram. Hard to beat. #dayout
Thank you for the interview, @lydialukidis.bsky.social! #kidlit
Sun King from Abbey Road just came up in a random playlist so it wasn't immediately followed by Mean Mr Mustard. This was deeply, disturbingly wrong, so I'm now listening to Abbey Road from the start to exorcise.
I've been to the cinema about 70 times this year, and there have only been about 5 times where I haven't been pissed off with someone else in the audience. Yesterday at a screening of Hope, I told someone off for speaking loudly, and they looked at me as if I had stabbed their leg.
I did it! I made 4 litres of cabbage pickles. I would adjust the recipe to be about 1/2 vinegar for the strength of the source ingredient we had in the house. Now to wait two weeks for it to be ready. I already have some friends who are excited to have a jar of their own after trying the first batch.
"oi mister, you're no longer me 'usband" mia goth, greeting shia labeouf
I had to switch to my single vision backup glasses and they are Ray Ban. They are old-old and I promise I am not recording you at Open Source Conference Luxembourg 2026 #oscl26 .
this godot tutorial is sitting here at 2 hours,i was hard work in godot yesterday just tinkering around, not really doing anything just recalling what I learned but today I didn't do anything. I notice with this I usually do the stuff in my head and then i get super excited to go back and foolaround
I was doing my morning back stretches and he brought me a toy from elsewhere in the house as he often does. But he always leaves it just outside the room (it’s just out of shot) and miaows there so you have to get up and go look 🙄 Well, normally - in this case I leaned around and he could see me so he caved and came to me instead 😸
Bring on the java! ☕️
I wanna fix up my dumb little mesh replacement mod for BG3 before I jump back into the game, but in the 1.5 years since I cobbled it together I have forgotten how I did any of it. I remember there was a lot of bs, a lot of moving parts and trying everything til it worked involved. I should've taken notes.
job search update: i’m involved in some sort of kafkaesque scheme
I'll never be this cool.

Going with Developer. Try 1: You have run out of money. Week 19. 55 applications, 0 ghostings. Try 5(?): You got the job. Circle Back Systems, $99,000/year. It took 19 weeks, 58 applications and 2 ghostings. $2,033 left in the bank. [$45k price cut, but it's work.]
going to start saying I quit grad school because I knew the AI math stuff was going to happen 12 years later
a while ago I made a bunch of unhinged requests to Amazon's shopping AI about things like "the best conceal carry holster for my dog" and I'm pleased to announce it's paid off Nice. Has a cat, could be improved by asking about Wildcat claw cutters a muzzle and protective clothing. :-)
Hey what's up guys is this the meetup for guys who tried to kill Keanu Reeves
Watched an hour of a film. The People Time Forgot. 1977. It's so wrong that it's entertaining. People traipse through dust and sand, get kidnapped, tied up, escape, slide through mud. And not a hair out of place, no smear on their skin, and their clothes are clean from the laundry. LOL!
The vintage shopping gods have been blessing me with a lot of incredible leather lately, but NOLA weather hasn’t gotten the memo about it being fall yet. Thinking about making a little visit to NYC (and perhaps a night in DC too?) in November…
Don't worry about it, sharp-edged table leg; I've still got 9 more toenails (you insentient wooden twat).
well thank you edmund mcmillen for giving me an idea, i'll draw zodiac topping gambit some time
Sun is shining ... I feel a reservoir #walk coming on ... (Like I need to take MORE photographs!!!) #walkscotland #photography #angusglens
We got us a hurricane heading our way, too. Not nearly as big as the Gulf one and it will mostly hit down south but it does mean we have a good chance of rain. It will be a welcome relief. Last night was the first night the overnight temp dropped below 70 (69).
I knew I was exhausted after running some errands for my ailing neighbor last night that had me running over the neighborhood on top of my usual walking routine, but I didn't think I would sleep until 9:30 when I had to leave for school at 10 AM
Thanks for coming!! Sorry for the random twitch obs drop for a bit there! But I'm glad we made it back online to finish the game! See you tomorrow for another spooky stream!!! Love you goobers SO MUCH!
Personal update: this morning Lyricdancer awoke with chest pain, so she got to take her shirt off for the hunky firefighter/paramedics, and then we've spent a lovely day at the hospital. Good news: no, she hasn't had a(nother) heart attack! But she admitted that she's awakened similarly with chest pain the last several mornings without telling me, and that nitroglycerin has alleviated it (indicating that, yeah, it's probably something cardiac), and since her cardiologist retired and she can't get an appointment for months, they admitted her overnight so the hospital cardiologist can give her a stress test, angiogram, echocardiogram, etc. to see if something's wonky that needs to be addressed. So: tired and bored but nothing's really wrong and she's getting excellent care. More updates as events warrant.
I was out playing softball but I didn’t want to miss a chance to say
my brain wants me to make the sleepy wasp oc

Oh yeah, that book I bought about making soft toys. Might have found a project for the hoodie I want to use up.
Fun SK fact while I'm thinking about mastodon excavation-- I got to help excavate a mastodon when I was a wee baby (20 years old)! My youngest sister was part of a professional archaeology and paleontology club at the time (she's now a bioanthropology student) and I went along just to see it

Sorry buddy your sentai suit is spontaneously growing a miniskirt over your spandex
Today in random, impulsive research… I just learned that the creation of the University of Michigan was originally attempted in Detroit and failed, and was only later successfully created in Ann Arbor. #TIL #IDNKT
We took friends to our favorite local winery and a Belgian couple was there buying wine. They quickly figured I was American and asked us about trump. Their question was how trump got elected after his disastrous first term, and I never have an answer to that. We're asked that very often.
I didn’t get into Phoebe Bridgers until this summer. God do I wish I first heard this album in 2020 when it came out. It would have been on repeat so hard as I navigated my depression the rest of that year.
THE KRAKEN DEMANDS COFFEE, WOE TO YOU IF THE MILK IS ON THE TURN.
This afternoon, I had an extra hour to use up some excess kefir I had in the fridge. I made this flatbread for the first time: tinandthyme.uk/2024/03/flatbre… At the point of rolling it out, I had a thought: I still have the gorgeous old wood tortilla press I bought in Austin 20+ years ago, right? Right? Or did I get rid of it because, I literally haven't touched it in 20 years? Dear Reader, I found the press and after it was dusted off of its cobwebs, it worked great! Also, I forgot how pretty that thing was. Worth finding things to use it for just because of that.
