How it works

  1. Geez, I'm exhausted. I'm making medication changes again and it's not...easy. I feel like I've been trying a new med in an endless loop for a decade. And I flunk out on nearly every med I try because the intersection of diseases is cruel and I have paradoxical reactions. *sighs*

There are a few things that will pretty reliably flare my endo up, but also like 90% of the time it just feels like a dice roll. I take it back about barometric pressure migraines being the worst because you can't control the weather. This is the worst because I don't even know what happened 🤣😭

I know most vitamins and supplements are scams or unnecessary but I’ve been taking a B12 consistently again and I have so much more energy. Or like, enough that I noticed.

some days the overwhelm of basically starting over with exercise, on top of doing it because I have a hyper-mobile body that desperately needs stability, just brings all that grief back up of having to manage this condition for the rest of my life

  5. when i was born the cord was wrapped around my neck and when they finally got me out i was so high off the painkillers they gave my mother that i nearly died and had to be taken away for hours before anyone was allowed to hold me and i think it will affect my psyche for the rest of my life

I’m lowkey pissed that when I was diagnosed with bipolar nobody told me about how important *lifestyle* is to managing it. If I knew consistent sleep schedules were doubly important for me, I probably would’ve left Chipotle sooner.

I've been having problems with my eyesight. My left eye sometimes fails to sync up with my right eye, leading to double vision. I went to the hospital, and fortunately it's not serious. Apparently it's just fatigue of the eye. I wonder if I should buy an eyepatch. Yarr.

Also okay dammit yesterday I learned that apparently estradiol doesn't expire after 28 days and you're supposed to just stockpile it?? God fucking dammit man lmao that makes sense I guess but dammit Still doesn't feel right even though it makes sense. Is sesame oil really gonna go off after 4 weeks

my body making a strong case daily that i am a biphasic sleeper (sleep 2-4 hrs, awake 2-4 hrs, another block of sleep). this, however, is not always ideal to fit into workday schedules

My right knee informs me that it no longer wants to perform traditional knee type activities and instead branch out into other, less bending forms. It acts all surprised and disappointed whenever I ask it to do knee things.

  11. I’ve been in a lot of physical pain recently due to travel & a general flare up One helpful technique is to focus all my brain on wiggling my toes. Feeling the texture of what they touch. Really paying attention to one part of my body. The pain fades out for a brief moment & I have control.

Lesser-known endometriosis comorbities: 2nd-degree burns across most of the right-side of your body bc the fucking hot water bottle burst while you were trying to relieve your PMS pain 🙃

in my experience, when i was younger and would actually go days without sleeping, the body will eventually collect its sleep debt whether you want it or not,,,, it's a matter of whether you give it the sleep it needs at a convenient regular time, or it Takes the sleep it needs in broad daylight

2 miles today for the first time (3.182km) which was pleasing. I reckon I could run a full 5k now, but I’m building up to it carefully, as I want to avoid injury.

The highlight of my Diabetes clinic checkup was the doctor going through my history "And everything seems normal and - Wait what's this about a rabies exposure on mine 15th?"

Okay actually I don't like finding out magnesium deficiency can kill you the hard way, to be honest, and once more skipping the queue at a very busy ER/ED is not actually as much fun as it sounds. :/ I also feel bad for everyone else suffering who is like 'why do THEY get admitted immediately.'

Today was hospice intake for Dad. And a GI oncology visit (where they said he is not a candidate for surgery, and they don’t biopsy appendixes anyway). I am a mixture of many emotions. He is staying with us from now on, whatever that looks like.

For all the bellyaching I did a while back about medicating for ADHD (dubiously diagnosed by a PCP instead of a psych no less) I am glad I had it to lean on for work this week.

Drove my car to pick up the family in town today. First time I've driven since Feb. I'm still a mess. Driving a mile has worn me out as if I ran a mile in the heat. Still need to nap every day or I start to crash again but better than before. #mecfs #longcovid

I woke up in the middle of the night after having not done my workout for the third day in a row so I did it because shame. I’m doing body weight workouts while the food processor blade slice in my thumb heals. I’m pretty sure I’m actually dead now so going back to sleep shouldn’t be a problem.
