I would hope so .. Chick-fil-A has built a reputation on paying well and using people to interact with customers from end to end. Here in Atlanta, they seem to move many more cars through the drive thru with multiple actual live people working than the traditional fast food units with automation. So I'm sure their costs are higher; but either their margin is similarly higher or the goodwill of this makes up for it in volume - or both. No matter what you think of the owners, the business itself is impressive. foxbusiness.com/lifestyle/chic…

people have been gesturing at it for a while now but i think it's impossible to ignore at this point: the US is sliding into stagflation expect inflation to keep going up, rates to keep increasing, while the economy deteriorates it will be "solved" through deregulation and austerity
I will add - they propose some kind of voluntary governance arrangement making shareholders liable for corporate debts, which is permitted under state laws that ordinarily provide limited liability by default. But it doesn't have to be voluntary. For sure, if a state purported to eliminate -
Something that's changed massively in my time in journalism is when I started, UK papers were terrified of libel and American papers thought it was a joke. Now it's kind of reversed? Americans are REALLY scared of being sued now, and all the 'lol 1st amendment bucko' stuff has died away.
banks and corporations are cashing in on the effects of war. That leads to the Bank of England’s inevitable blaming of wage increases for inflation, ignoring the recent research in the US showing that that most price inflation comes from “companies seeking to maintain profit margins”.
The hardest thing to do in your financial life is creating margin for yourself. The easiest way to do it is to automate it. Ideally that margin is gone before your check is ever cut to you. Think of it like the U.S. government showed up and increased your tax bill by 10%. It isn't optional.
I am so over the non stop calls from 'recruiters' who only have a passing familiarity with english. I get these 2-3 times a day now, phone calls out of the blue for horribly unqualified positions. Latest had this bit of deep wisdom about the position. #recruiters #sre #jobs #tech
[2/2] cut. Algorithmic wage computation is the flip side of personalized pricing. The company that controls the algorithm has the advantage and can use it against workers and customers simultaneously. This should be illegal to use with either workers or customers (or both). Making employees bid against each other (with whoever accepts the lowest wage being the "winner") should also be illegal.

I'd rather Tesco pay their staff and suppliers properly than make a £3 billion profit. Paying them better would reduce, possibly only a little, the current reliance on UC. In work benefits are needed for many as the supermarkets pay do badly. 1.25m people work for UK supermarkets. #R4today
Personality fit is more important than specific topic fit in econ as well. Fields/subfields matter a lot, but subtopics not so much
Last summer, standups Harris Alterman and Dave Ross put up fake tech ads in NYC subway stations. I'm sure at least one venture capitalist saw these ads and was offended that nobody had asked him for $50 million. youtube.com/shorts/rXespMJRatM…
Eventually, the press box will be turned into a luxury suite and you'll have to pay to get the propaganda straight from the athletics department. Hogs+ style deals will become the norm.

so let's be clear. Firmus IPO is looking very shaky. Institutional investors are not convinced. Missed a rental payment!!!! 🚩. A key partner has walked away from a partnership to build the AI centres 🚩 It was always built on quicksand & a dodgy sales pitch 🚩 #politas
This. Is. Fucking. Madness. The "flywheel" is nut-job speak for circular financing. Keep it spinning at all costs!! “We view this as a smart strategic move for the SpaceX buildout because it fuels the flywheel between launch, Starlink, and AI" seekingalpha.com/news/4651007...
Could it cause inflation? Not really at all—wow!
I actually don’t care if billionaires flee California. they already don’t pay their share of taxes. And they already do rounds of layoffs instead of employing more people the richer they get. So what’ll be the difference babes
