This is awe-inspiring. The little baby lion is rescued by his mama, who growls at the humans and looks back at them like, "I think I've made my position very clear, don't you?"
Tech
From August: Recommended streaming services for cartoons (2026 edition). TLDR, even ignoring politics, I didn't really recommend HBO Max or Paramount+; most of their stuff can be found on the general recommendations list: Netflix, Disney+/Hulu, Prime Video, Tubi, and PBS Kids. diversetechgeek.com/recommende… #streaming #Skydance #WarnerBros #Paramount #physicalmedia

Emmylou Harris: Luxury Liner (Warner Bros BSK3115, 1977) Even if this wasn’t great to listen to—and it is—Emmylou would be a hero for preaching the gospel of Gram Parsons and introducing the world to Townes Van Zandt’s “Poncho & Lefty.” Her band features James Burton, Ricky Skaggs, John Ware and Mickey Raphael. Even Dolly Parton shows up for one song. @vinylrecords #vinyl #EmmylouHarris
Never an easy task, especially if the original’s a classic to begin with, but I’ve always found Talking Heads cover of “Take Me To The River” to be absolutely superb. They made it theirs. Honorable Mentions: Come Together (Aerosmith) Africa (Weezer) Spooky (ARS) Ballroom Blitz (Crucial Taunt)

Amazing new LP 'Love You More' by The Crystal Teardrop from Midlands, UK. thecrystalteardrop.bandcamp.co… '60s psych jangle pop vibes, hints of Byrds, Beatles, Jefferson Airplane, even a bit of Fleetwood Mac. It's basically the Smithereens with a female singer. So you KNOW I'm gonna be about it. Killer vocals, great lyrics, tight band, catchy record. #MusicWomenWednesday #2026Albums #2026Records #psych #PsychRock #jangle #PowerPop #TheCrystalTeardrop #UKBands #MidlandsUK

#AmReading #Helm by #SarahHall. A bewitching, raucous novel about a wind, specifically the Helm wind in Cumbria, and the people who challenge, fear, and love Helm. It’s an audacious concept for a novel, and Hall carries it off brilliantly. Her writing is miraculous, and Helm is a gloriously mercurial character. #Bookstodon #books #BlewMeAway arcade.kofflerarts.org/article…
