  1. 15. Bahia #JohnColtrane100 Coltrane's music has sometimes be released much later than the recording date. Today's piece, “Bahia”, was recorded in 1958 but gave its title to an album that appeared in 1965, at a time where Coltrane had published much more personal music with his classic quartet. To the point that jazz critics of that time from *Record Mirror* wrote that “Talk of Coltrane being ‘anti-jazz’ must be dispelled by this little lot.” This is a composition by Ary Barroso, and the rhythmic flow is sustained by a short motive on the piano and bass and an omnipresent cascara on the ride
