I was in a 12th-century village in August and thought I'd do some street pics. When I got back to the rental, the best picture in the batch was me putting an ND filter on. So, if you love medieval architecture, I give you... My hand! #selfportrait #photography #ECK

Black and white 12mm self-portrait of a single hand, held close over the lens with the palm facing the camera and fingers splayed wide. The extreme distortion stretches the fingers and thumb so they radiate from the palm like the spokes of a wheel, with the forearm running off to the bottom left. Strong sunlight picks out the creases and skin texture of the palm. Behind the hand, a stone village house and trees stand against a dark sky, and a heavy vignette darkens the edges of the frame.View full-size image

  3. This wren was fairly distant, and the lighting was dim enough that the exposure took longer than I'd hoped. Then I saw the motion of his beak and got pretty excited. For the #BirdOfTheDay theme #Crooners. #photography #wildlife #ECK

This was my favorite diptych of double exposure #Polaroid shots I took this past weekend covering CAWW, the Colorado Annual Women's Weekend #pinball tournament. The image on the right was during a pre-tourney in Longmont in that barn while the other image was shot at Lyon's Classic Pinball where the main events were held. #doubleexposure #filmisnotdead

  5. “Shoreline Trees, Clearing Fog” — Fog clears above a grove of coastal trees at Point Lobos. the best light usually comes early and late in the day. It often has a warmer coloration, and it can be softer than the midday light coming from high overhead. And there’s a good chance that morning fog and mists may linger. But eventually, on most days, the “good light” period passes and the morning’s work is done. It was that time as I began to make my way back to the trailhead, feeling that the morning’s best light was leaving. But then I saw this row of dense trees along the rocky edge above the water, with a hint of clearing fog in the background. continue: gdanmitchell.com/2026/10/07/sh… #pointlobos #photo #photography #photoOfTheDay #lensCulture #landscapePhotography #photographyLovers #naturePhotography #fineArtPhotography #nature

The fog makes the street intimate by making it disappear.

Oh yay, back to trees reflecting in water. Evening shot from one of my favourite spots by the lake. I've posted other (and better) photos of other (and better) sunsets from the same spot before. This one is from 2021. #WeeklyTheme #Reflections

Most of the time they position themselves in such a fashion that it looks like a single animal with a head on each side and extra legs. In this picture from this morning, they were positioning themselves this way! (No idea why they do that.)

  • felt like doing more psychedelic, surreal leaning edits and am loving how these are turning out. I love doing these purple, almost mystical fairy garden type edits

We've had some rain so the ephemeral ponds in the mountains have water again. This Northern red-legged frog was tricky to photograph in the dark and the muck. Yesterday on the Diez Vistas trail above Sasamat Lake, Anmore, BC. #herps 🐸 #wildlifephotography 🌿
