How it works

  1. @deppy.bsky.social

Not one, but TWO of my childhood best friends have also come out as trans. And we all grew up in conservative religious households. It's honestly very fascinating to me how we managed to just naturally find each other even if none of us had any clue what was going on at the time.

  2. @quaelog.bsky.social

When I was younger, I thought that God made men the head of the household and have dominion over their wives because men didn't get to be women and needed some kind of consolation for that. Turns out not everyone wants to be a woman. Egg Theology is pretty damn wild.

  3. @stellario.space

My best and only friend in 5th grade was also a troubled queer kid. He had a boyfriend in malibu. The bad boy in 5th grade I'm sure was gay too and years later he did drag routine in front of his mirrored closet for me during a school project. That guy became hardcore Catholic though.

  4. Long ass time ago, I watched The Dark Crystal with my cousins. We pretended to be gelflings on our own quest and I declared I had wings and I would save everyone by flying. My cousins said it was impossible because only girl gelflings have wings. Young me loudly declared “Then I’m a girl gelfling!

a recent conversation made me realize I actually don't talk a lot about my intersex experience on here puberty was fun, I thought I was a guy for the longest time, finished out high school looking like a 6ft cis woman with facial hair kinda forces you to reevaluate your life, heh

i thought my lack of attraction towards men IRL was another side effect of living in northern virginia... it just turns out i'm not attracted to men anywhere in the world

Baby trans girl with ally friends who are cis women. You will, in fact, go through a period where everyone of them will go "Ladies first" and open the door for you. Every. Single. One of them.

I'd originally thought there was a substantial gap between reading Mae Dean's coming out comic and me starting up my femme burner accounts. Then I checked the timestamps and realized I'd been on those burner accounts for nine months before coming out. I'd started them two weeks after the comic.

Since I’m like studying gender at a university now I’m realizing from Japanese feminists how important it is to problematize trans exclusionary and cissexist language usage. You gotta challenge cis people and yourselves on everything. We gotta do pronoun circles dog.

  10. @cidriel.bsky.social

all other aspects of this recent terf wizardy resurgence are bad enough on their own, but objectively speaking "malfoid" is a stupid fucking name. it sounds like a slimy space creature at best, and a disease at worst. I'm gonna call refer to this trend as "Malfoid Fever" with the disgust it deserves

  11. @honkai.gay

thinking about how my 8 1/2 year old dog still probably thinks of me by my deadname, because he used to react to people calling it before I fully came out a little while ago. not very woke of him

  12. even before i was "queer" by virtue of transitioning, or deciding to transition, i feel like i was always leaning in that direction. i always felt more at home with transfems than otherwise. Christian transfems explicitly i felt most kinship to. Well, unsurprising, i suppose

  13. pronouns are she/they because i could never be her

  14. I don't think it's a coincidence that so much discourse around marginalized people tends to revolve around how some of them CAN conform. They focus on ace people who like to have sex, autistics who are "high functioning," lesbians who have sex with men, non dysphoric trans people. This is presented

Being trans and being non-binary are NOT mental illnesses in any way, shape and form. Also, being trans and being non-binary are NOT delusions in any way, shape and form. And by the way, science, biology and reality supports trans people. www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/lang...

  19. Honestly, seeing this image, I think I'm going to have to write up a blog post that talks about /why/ I find these stories/depictions so affirming and empowering. I think a lot of it is simply that everyone in the world seems to be allowed to be cool except for transmasc folks?

My gender feels pretty ambiguous and apathetic these days, like it should be nothing. I'm 'him' in a "look at him go" way when you see a dog. I'm 'girl' in a 'go piss, girl" way. I'm 'they' in a 'pile of leaves' sort of way.

Well, my partner has finally announced that they want to go on HRT. Kinda saw it coming based on the past few years, but it's still... awkward? Our relationship is quite different than it used to be, yet I still care about them and want them to be happy with themselves.

  23. "your headmates 'exist.' that's the truth. with love they may be seen" Only started recognizing our own plurality after estrogen finally let us feel anything but a searing resentment towards ourselves I'm starting to think maybe everything going "love is the most important thing" have been right

  24. @onlycans.bsky.social

trans tipping point was a giant cis wielded cultural magnifying glass that insisted hypervisibility was the final step in a cementing of our social existence.

  25. my friend who likes eden is so funny bc hes a trans man but all his self inserts are women and he says it's bc he's spiritually a woman. every time he says that irl i give him the look and he looks back at me like this

  26. @enbykaiju.itch.io

Had this on my mind all morning, and it's brought up a lot of long-term rough feelings about how amab (I hate that term) non-binary folks are treated as either effeminate men, or women-lite There's such a level of disrespect that demonstrates just how far many will go to maintain the binary 🧵

  27. @sollizyy.bsky.social

Seeing reviews for het t4t books where they say something to the effect of "this feels like it's basically for straight readers" disappoints me. Like het t4t where they both have had bottom surgery isn't "comformist" lol--since when is transitioning "conforming"?

    Opinion
  28. @ribbonroad.bsky.social

my crack theory is that enough people used genderfluidity/nonbinary/etc as a stepping stone to coming out as a binary trans person that they now, subconsciously or otherwise, view being nonbinary as a "step backwards" instead of like, also an identity people can have

  29. LOL, the amazon clanker is hella confused by my enby ass. "They're buying men's clothes AND women's clothes? It's two people--gotta be!"

  30. @eveleencat.bsky.social

When I was in high school, I was really fascinated with gender bending myself as a dude. I liked the name "Henrie". Now I'm bigender and identify as both male and female 💕

  31. the thing about trans people with “any pronouns” in bio i feel is sometimes it means they don’t have a preference, but sometimes it means that they are tired of people asking and don’t want to advertise the easiest way to hurt them

i wish people didnt just make up how transohobia works. this myth that transphobia is the "normal" opinion now has people imagining transphobes as some sort of grassroots organizing we can learn from, and not that its been personally bankrolled and defended by JK Rowling and Oil Billionaires 🤪🤪

I don't know anything about trans demographics. are there more trans men or women, are more of us gay or straight or bi, binary or nonbinary? I haven't a clue

  37. Cishet men that want women to feel safe - this is a REALLY good time to speak up. It’s a GREAT time, actually. It’s a great time to stand with us, tell your misogynistic coworkers and peers that they’re not accepted or tolerated. I desperately want to believe good men exist.

  38. my piping hot controversial take is that cis people cannot be misgendered. this is because i simply think it's funny, and because i am actually Dark Woke. if ur cis, u just have to go by whatever pronouns i pick for you in the moment 💖 (for legal reasons, this is a fucking joke)

  39. @che-da.bsky.social

Im so tired of trans infighting. "This subset group is why we aren't taken seriously" No. We aren't taken seriously, because those trying to cast us out can't imagine someone with a lived experience different than their own. And apparently neither can half of you?? It's just so frustrating to watch.

    Opinion
  40. This just reminded me of how my dysphoria still bubbles up even though I thought it reduced kind of. I haven’t transitioned and use he/they pronouns - I’ve told less people about my gender identity though, so I pass for a cis man.

  41. For me it felt like I had sought out joy in my life specifically in things which didn't relate to my gender and didn't realise there was a disconnect there. Once I realised I was trans the feeling was more of a numbness, like me presenting as a man was a role I played but didn't connect with.
