Glad to see these folks working on a union... but shouldn't it really be a "guild", considering?

I'm unsleeving a ton of Florian cards from my RuneBox so I can put together Viserai. It's got me SO nostalgic for Rosetta...What an amazing set! Fun limited, gorgeous aesthetic, and 4 very cool heroes that all kinda broke the game in some way. I really loved that era of FAB (I love all eras of FAB)
Reminder, Resident Evil canon post remakes is a lot more loose and less concrete. So if Dead Aim doesn't harm anything in the 'mainline' games, there's no reason to exclude it from what you consider to be canon. (Same way I still favour the OG titles canon irrespective of what Requiem shows).
The original Cenobites have such memorable designs but the Dr. Channard build lets you to cheese their boss fight with ranged snake projectile damage—you don’t even have to learn their attack timing. Some players equip a hook resist ring, but it’s basically trivial to do a no-hit run, even on NG+5.
If there's one thing about the Trails series I still actively wish they didn't do, it's the multiple romance options. They're inoffensive at best, but it was very clearly an attempt to ride Persona's coattails due to that series's success, while forgetting that Persona games can get away with-
The big problem with a lot of 3rd party d&d stuff is like... everyone wants to get CrAzY with it, but then it becomes either trash, bad game design, or just overpowered. And these people usually give the d&d homebrew equivalent of "IT'S JUST MY STYLE."
sylvain’s relationship with matthias is so integral to his character—being the ghost of your fathers former & happier self, seeing how all of his dreams and goals fell apart, how your father condemned himself to his failures… you struggle to love him but you cant hate him—all you can do is succeed
cant really speak on behalf of the newer monsters games because now the mechanics of recruiting monsters have changed but while yes you still fight monsters, the fact that in the early monsters series, enemy monsters have a CHOICE of joining you, its never forced, just encouraged through giving food
By far the most popular and successful part of my OD&D campaign are the sessions where we don't play D&D at all, just run a Chainmail jousting tournament and Deadball baseball game This is an example of D&D being a well-designed game which effectively steers gameplay towards desired play outcomes
Currently playing Cyberpunk2077 out of a friend's Steam library and damn, the on foot controls in this game feel like parallel parking a delivery truck. The imprecise, chunky controls make me wish i was playing a real FPS or 3PS instead. Maybe i'm playing 2077 wrong tho
This is like a reverse scenario of Metroid, where a remake led to two new entries. Here, two new entries led to a remake.
May I ask: have any of you played with the deepseek harness? I’ve heard that it’s pretty good, I tried it one time and it seemed to be pretty accessible although I should probably try it again. What was cool was when I pressed the tab key it would give me a lot of verbose information about what I was highlighted on which I personally liked. Like it even told me how many tokens a turn used and stuff like what the heck?
It's exhausting seeing game conversation this deep into 2026 where people so confidently talk as if Atari and THQ Nordic are 1980s Atari and regular THQ. If I change my name to John Wayne, I'm not the famous cowboy film star, I'm a different guy named John Wayne.
Just got an email from GOG claiming that Octopath Traveller from 2018 is a 'good old game' now... I like you guys, but this is beyond ridiculous #RetroGaming #GOG
Like if you asked 100 game developers if we should have done things the way we did with respect to graphics handling most likely 100 of them would have said something like, "No! What the actual fuck? Why?" But you see the internals are a total nightmare and impossible to work with so who's to say? The results however are... wildly inconsistent... I wouldn't have it any other way.
But in all honesty, with pretty much everyone who worked on Skullgirls no longer being involved thanks to not getting paid by the publisher for their work, I'm placing the blame on the skullgirls art contest censorship fiasco on mobile distributors (and markets) need to be completely squeaky clean
I heard the SF4 rollback mod was vibecoded. Wouldn't be surprised if FGC didn't pushback on it. Between that and all the decomps of various games, the rate at which these things are developing should be raising alarms. Software needs to be made with care, which takes time.
Been finding myself enjoying the WoW Forever Beta; though I wish people would stop "slippery sloping" when you suggest that, perhaps, they could do with a few more flight paths/ graveyards, or making certain quests less "run for 10 minutes, talk to a person, now go back to the 1st person".
I think the new Castlevania demo looks really cool and competently made. I think the music is like a REALLY poor fit. it just drones on in the background without any sort of noticeable hook in a series known for some of the hook-iest music of all time
I read this post too quickly, and now I'm pondering ways to make Barbie's Baldur's Gate work.
*understanding voice* being a game designer is like being The Monarch
Need game nerd help! ❤️🎲 3yo toddler is I’ll an loves dice rolling. Anyone got a quick idea for a super small story building game with lots of dice rolling. That I can download and play with them? #pnp #dice #storybuiling
for being membrane (I think?), the d-pad on the #psvita is ridiculously good.
A whole lot of people acted like pattheflip was personally endangering his fellow devs when he wrote that blog about how he cared more about 2XKO being interesting than financially successful. I've noticed none of them apologized after Riot basically said "financial success" had never been an option
When games workshop raises the point cost of a unit because its part of some specific combo they should also include a Normal Person Discount for when you're like, hey this little guy looks cool I'll get one.
Why can't we put the character in the middle of the screen anymore. Why do I have one third of the screen permanently covered by the back of puppet that learned how to walk from Garry's Mod youtube poops.
it’s 2026, if you are a games writer you haaaave to know how to implement your own work
Between RESIDENT EVIL and EXIT 8, that's two genuinely great video game adaptations in one year. If STREET FIGHTER is even just OK, we may have to retire the sliding scale of quality when it comes to such movies.
Finally beat Ace Combat 8. Been playing these games since 4 as a kid on the PS2 and god damn if 8 isn't the best story they've ever done. Insane missions. Awesome characters. Actual sincerity in the story and dialogue. It was nice to see a game that just decided "what if we go all in on feels".
I just remembered, there is a bit in the CRYCHIC flashback in GBP where Sakiko mentions being close to Taki's older sister Maki, which isn't in the anime and, I noticed as well, isn't in Our Notes. So no, it isn't just the same script reused between games. So that answers one question.
There is one thing I love most about demoing The Final Cut of Lilith Cunningham. There is a moment in the demo when players’ heads whip around confused. Like they’ve seen a ghost. I can’t tell you why. It’d ruin it. And it won’t happen when you’re playing by yourself at home. 😂
you can play boardgames like role playing games and you can play role playing games like boardgames so ‘boardgames’ and ‘roleplaying games’ are really more like stances of play rather than different products
The next metro game drops early this year. If you like shooters, these are some of the best. After beating Exodus this year, I'm certain this trilogy is an all timer. Getting this many games that are this high quality for so cheap is legally categorized as theft in most countries.
CONTROL RESONANT has blown my mind twice now. There are some remarkable puzzles and when you get a new power, it feels like the game completely changes shape suddenly.
I mean they are also games. That is a pretty significant thing. Like I understand where you're coming from here but they very much are games.
The fact that The Witcher 3 is ten years old, still extremely supported by the devs, universally loved, and runs smooth as hell on my ten year old computer is somewhat overshadowed by the fact that there are still silly bugs left, that should have been solved in patch 1.01. I'm of course […]
I think some game apps are actually battle plans by aliens and are using humans to solve their war for them.
i think the biggest crime Kingdom Hearts has done is never being able to make "Rowdy Rumble" sound as good as it did in the original version. every version of the song, official and fanmade, ever since have a disturbing lack of "rowdy" and "rumbling" www.youtube.com/watch?v=TzRd...
reaffirming my belief that some people just have bad opinions after seeing a journalist who got to play a demo of the Vanillaware Muramasa remake say the only thing they didnt like about the game was how it looked...........
there is something about Silent Hill games that pmo mechanically yet resets me spiritually. I loved Simon but I think Zoe's story might've been the show stopper for me. I've really enjoyed the past couple less ~~traditional entries in the series. #SilentHillTownfall #Spoilers #CheldarPlays
The simulator genre has reached the point where 'what normal job has NOT been turned into a game yet?' is becoming a genuinely difficult question. #IndieGames
I played a game recently where both the table sprawl and laborious setup (first time took the whole 40-80 min estimated play time) screamed "this was only tested virtually" to me
i take back everything i said about the new star wars racing game being stupid for focusing on an involved singleplayer campaign because this is the best thing to happen to non-andor star wars all decade
There's going to be a 2027 Marvel x Magic Set announcement on Friday and based on the build up across Standard, I suspect it'll be focused on the Mutants. In anticipation of that here's my best guess for the general archetypal themes(not literally the Mutate mechanic, even if I want more Mutate).
Sometimes we take the 235 Rapid MTS and load up other maps. They just increased the cost of that DLC.
“Star Wars: Galactic Racer” May Not Be Podracing (Mostly), But It’s Pretty Close - by Clint Worthington rogerebert.com/video-games/sta…
blog.google/innovation-and-ai/… they're gonna try to make the same bad arguments with this that they made for illustration, music, film, and creative writing and please take this veteran game developer's word that this is all a big load of shit. trash, but diametrically opposite the beautiful interesting trash that game creators, novice and experts alike, make when they think thoughts and pour their life experiences into something that communicates some piece of their humanity to the rest of us.

Hoooooooooo boy What a cliffhanger! Huge props to the game design preprod time to set this up in such a way that after dramatic jumps and falls, both teams are still so close, and still so competitive, this far in. And of course props to the teams now for keeping it up also lol @ the nebula ad read #JetLagTheGame #JLG #Japanorama
I can also confirm: Soul Hackers 2 The Technomancer Titanquest Strangely, although it is published by Activision, (now owned by Microsoft), Sekiro's digital licence is still unavailable...
@GodotFest Heya, just wondering if there is a rough timetable (like, very rough, something like "Start 10 AM, End 6 PM (Both Days)" or similiar? While writing I found the schedule for 2025 and it seems that ~5pm/5:30pm was the end for both days. Was just wondering if I need another night at the hotel. (I remember the Godotcon in Berlin ending at something like 3pm...) Cheers!
