I did this "Sheetpan Taco Bell Crunchwrap Supreme" recipe I saw tonight for the whole family and, gotta say, it went great~ Had more than enough for 6+ people, made some street corn and quac with it. Also had some cactus pears on hand (because I genuinely love those) so I made agua fresca with em

I made bread today and impulsively decided to clean + rearrange my entire office and I am very tired but the bread turned out pretty and my office feels less cramped and dirty so it’s a win. Here’s the bread
First day of #Spoonsfest with 3 of the 30 festival beers ticked. So far Oakham’s stunning Dressed to Impress is no. 1, but I am a little scared I might already have had the best beer.
At the grocery store I saw honey crisp apples in a bin marked as macintosh. I bought 8 lbs of ambrosia apples for $8. At home I realized if someone bought the honey crisp, thinking they are getting macintosh, they would have paid $32!!!! $3.99/lb
My small town is very white and our food options are basically burgers or mexican. If you want something else you have to drive min 30 minutes. Hubband and I have made it a part of our life to try and cook a variety of foods from anywhere and everywhere; this week was chicken kebsa!
Last year I started my cold weather cooking thread this same week. So now it's an annual rhythm I guess. First soup of the season: Creamy Potato and Corn soup with crispy sausage and black pepper onions.
Got a collapsible water bottle I sorta like because a friend had one for several years and I appreciate the silicone geometric carton design instead of just a weird bladder.
Due to a shopping mishap yesterday, I had roasted garlic ciabatta for breakfast this morning.

Lunch: beans, cranberries, onion, avocado, and red onion chutney from Aldi. :chefkiss:
I made stuffed shells with ground turkey and cottage cheese and parm and vodka sauce last weekend, and they turned out good, but dairy and tomatoes give me the big heartburn, which is something I probably should've remembered BEFORE I made them.
Me refusing to wait 25 mins for a table in a restaurant that literally had 20 open tables (I know, right?) led me to a pho place that was excellent and there was a comic and game shop in the same shopping center. So I won that round, hoity toity restaurant.
I am having a very rare “I don’t feel like eating” day, so I’ve had to bribe myself with some pastry so that I actually eat something.
eating sweets with bitter drinks <3 just had a lollipop with tea bc my professor gave us sweets... just after having the cheesecake lol but as long as I don't have the sweet aftertaste I'm okay I think
I'm in Singapore for three days and two nights before we set off to Portugal, so we are trying to cram in as much food as we can 😬 It started off with economy noodles, because that's how a day should start. Why have eggs on toast, when you can have breakfast noodles?
I refrained from getting my usual banana bread from the polynesian grocery and now I keep thinking banana bread, banana bread...
I think I'm going to make my asparagus pizza with a basil pesto sauce, lemon zest, and fried tofu. With a sprinkle of olive oil. No cheese because vegan and not really a fan of vegan 'cheese'.
I was at the Asian food hall. There’s an authentic Chinese place (like chickens and ducks hanging in the window authentic) closed today but there was a sign that said “Go Back” and I thought ‘pardon me?’ Then I realized it was a Halloween decoration.
I am indispensable, like soft-serve from a McDonald's ice cream machine
Is it weird that I’m excited about a homemade chicken curry receipe?
I just made a personalized trail mix and holy shit it's so good It's so good because it only has my favourite things in it! I'm not toughing anything out or eating around it! For the curious: ▪️assorted raisins ▪️crispy m&ms ▪️salted pretzels ▪️sunflower seeds ▪️cashews ▪️brazil nuts ▪️hazelnuts
The local bread shed has basically stopped selling bread and it's all desserts now. They're very good desserts, but I just want bread!
did I decide to make challah bread at 6:30 at night? yes, but look at this braid. it’s gonna be really pretty once it’s baked.
Third paella meal/fifth paella dish of this trip.
Made empanadas tonight for the first time. Frankly, kinda crushed it. Best outcome I've had for a first cut at a recipe in a while.
Went to the apple orchard today. How do I always forget how good apples are?! Also, as a Midwesterner, McIntosh are the king of apples. I WILL fight you. 🍎

Of course I’m going to eat both of them. I didn’t order “a cannolo” 🙄
I'll know it's not summer anymore if chocolate digestive biscuits don't melt when I pick them up to dunk in my tea.
spaghetti, i want them in my belly
Neshews. Gotta start a trend
i love reviewing drinks cause it really helps with decision paralysis, instead of what flavor i wanna drink i can just be like "ooh haven't rated this one yet"
U da real ice cream (hold)
I was going to make lamb & asparagus stir fry tonight, but lamb mince was $21/500g and pork mince on special (cook today) was $9 so we’re having pork & asparagus stir fry tonight instead.
Yays! Pumpkin cooling for mashing & freezing, and I'm currently munching on delicious Cajun flavoured & roasted pumpkin seeds 😋. I've also made rhubarb crumble for Hubby and banana bread for me. Pacing break! (Also looks like we left the freezer ajar for a few hours - YIKES! Everything seems OK tho.
Cooked myself some Chili Spaghetti again and holy fuck can I really cook. Added curry powder, garlic powder, cumin, mexican oregano, and some salsa in addition to plant-based chili and a can of mexican tomato sauce. Turned out fucking awesome.
today i made a recipe i saw on instagram, which was takoyaki but instead of octopus you use hot dogs, and the whole yaki is seattle-dog themed, w caramelized onions +jalapeno (and cream cheese but i forgot it) but now i want to try it again with a corndog batter instead i think it would be real good
Making my own digestives tonight! With the tariffs, it's become prohibitive to buy them from McVitie's (and there are no more resellers), so I'm giving this recipe a shot: www.kingarthurbaking.com/recipes/dige...

I was so intimidated by the idea of making fresh tomato sauce for a long time, and now I’m fucking killing it
A former student from the summer made me vegan brownies. I think it means I've done a good job when my students gift me with things.
CW food / a good combination of foods with small effort: roast chunks of sweet potato, roast chickpeas with a bunch of lemon zest and pepper, big chunk of soft goats cheese, and a big cup of reheated frozen peas. Several great tastes, tasting great together.
Tonight's farm share included parsnips, sweet potatoes, corn on the cob, and tomatoes. The corn has already been roasted & devoured. The parsnips have been sliced into a crockpot with maple syrup, ginger, & galangal.
Was about to go and have breakfast in this café in Barking this morning but decided not to because...
My Mount Rushmore of cuisines: 1. Mexican 2. Italian 3. Indian 4. Chinese Obvs a ton of diversity within each of those categories but I’ll happily forego any meal from outside those borders (or diasporas)
Because I recently spent some time in the high desert is my stock answer for people who ask why I bought a dehydrator. Cronchy apple?
After 3 days the sourdough starter is so mighty it ate all the food and started producing alcohol. It's going to get 2 feeds a day from today and we will try a loaf at the weekend.
Mulberries. This is it, the crop. I have 4 trees (and 2 currawongs).
First cask ale of the trip. Up to at least 100 Go Birds today
After conducting an exhaustive internal review, I've unanimously decided that I'm entirely innocent of drinking the last beer in the fridge.
