How it works

  1. @bberwyn.bsky.social

Spiraling climate extremes accelerating each other, El Niño turning the Pacific into a warm soup ... What could possibly go wrong?

  2. @brianckeegan.com

<doomer> What we definitely need in December on top of an unfolding fascist coup in the US, a shooting war in the Middle East, plague in Asia, and AI swarms crashing markets is some climate disasters and famines. </doomer>

  4. Real men don’t do climate change - I have begun to think so since coming across research that suggests a lot of men brush off the climate problem for fear of seeming too feminine. But #AfD #AliceWeidel is campaigning against windmills www.ft.com/content/6111... via @FT #ActOnClimate

Heat builds through late-week... But temps ease up a bit into the weekend as Isaias passes to our east in a much weaker form. The question is... How much rain will it bring to eastern AR? As of now, we believe amounts will be light w/ heaviest totals near the Mississippi River. #ARwx #ARStormTeam

Tässä taas sellanen 4TWh kolo tulossa energiakapasiteettiimme. Nyt ilman edes mitään savuverhoa jossa luvattaisiin kasvattaa sähköntuotantoa samassa suhteessa. Näiden keskusten aiheuttama sähkön kallistuminen tulee vielä aiheuttamaan suurta ahdinkoa. www.hs.fi/visio/art-20...

We got us a hurricane heading our way, too. Not nearly as big as the Gulf one and it will mostly hit down south but it does mean we have a good chance of rain. It will be a welcome relief. Last night was the first night the overnight temp dropped below 70 (69).

Hurricane in the Gulf projected to hit AL (and surrounding states) Friday-ish, probably won't be more than a bunch of rain when it gets this far and it's not projected to be anything intense, at least last I saw

Watching a tropical disturbance develop and sitting in the cone of uncertainty while the NOAA reports refer to the "Gulf of America" is making me feel like I'm insane.

Oikeastaan aika söpöä nöpöilyä on huoli lähivuosien valtion taloudellisesta velkaantumisesta, jos ekosysteemien muutoksia ei oteta tosissaan. Paras aika investoida ympäristönsuojeluun on eilen, toiseksi paras tänään, huomenna tarvitaankin jo isommat investoinnit.

  13. Önder Algedik argues that COP31 is no longer a climate summit, but a climate-changing summit and increasingly, a climate fair. Its Action Agenda lists 10 themes, from zero waste to electrification, but there is no mention of coal, oil or gas. www.greenleft.org.au/2026/1464/wo...

When the planet gets warmer it gets wetter but that doesn't mean an even distribution of precipitation. This could be a major problem for low lying & mountainous areas.

#Gibraltar #Weather - 08/10 Plenty of high cloud again today, especially during this morning, with sunshine hazier at times. Light to moderate winds, West to Southwesterly at first but which may become variable before settling East or East-Southeasterly. 25C, maybe a touch warmer.

This morning, I suspect many homes will be putting their heating on for the first time this autumn! I’ve just been out & the sky is cloudless, but it’s definitely a bit cool out there this morning (at least until the sun starts to have an impact)
