Truly at a loss for how to get Democrats to think in terms longer than a single election cycle The point of the post Bret fundamentally misses is that the milquetoast corporate Democrat *causes* the spiteful stove-touching fascist It's not about comparing highs & lows, but about breaking the cycle

Nobody thought Harris would be just as bad for America as Trump. But Harris refused to actually stand for anything, and subsequently failed to earn enough votes to actually win the damn election, because all hype was GONE by election day. She chose safety over enthusiasm.
Hey! It turns out that not only are we ‘elite’, but we have our own social class. 🤷♀️ That brings with it all the class ‘privileges’ of daily abuse, discrimination, and lack of healthcare. We never knew we were so lucky!
We all know what “protect girls’ sports” means in the 2026 election cycle. DCCC coordinating on an ad using that language is unacceptable, and it gives other campaigns permission to follow. This is an inappropriate use of party resources. (1/3) www.erininthemorning.com/p/dccc-relea...
I tell colleagues all the time: it is 100%, simply: do you think people should have the right to make choices about their own bodies? You start whittling that down in some places, it starts vanishing in others.
This is relevant to everyone. If you aren't trans you might not get it, but trans rights are literally cis people's rights. It's your rights, whoever you are. And every excuse the state makes to abridge our rights takes away from every one of us.
Literally realized being trans was an option in like 2002 when my mom was watching a gross, exploitative docu about trans ppl on TV. we hope that trans kids will have gentler realizations, but once the seed of You Can Trans Your Gender is planted, it's there for good, doesn't matter who planted it.
The UK TERF movement essentially boils down to a bunch of entitled middle-aged Karen’s who were once criticised for some mild transphobia, and instead of apologising and moving on, they doubled-down, demanded to “speak to the manager”, and made their entire personality a bigot who won’t “weesht”! 🙄😖
calling trans people elitist is very funny But it's not my favourite blatant bigot lie. that award has to go to "trans is big pharma" as if we're all such huge fans of the pharma industry and don't regularly talk about how restricted our health care access is
if i ever obfuscate, sometimes i'm feeling too vulnerable and get a bit self-protective, that's a bad thing i expect to be called out by my peers vulnerable is a helluva place to live, don't recommend it as general purpose but trans girl isn't general purpose #nzpol
I like to point out that the segregationist KKK wives in the 1950s were being truthful when they said they would be uncomfortable sharing a restroom with a Black woman. The solution to this is that "uncomfortable" does not justify discrimination against other people.
People love going "Think of your mum, what would she think?" any time men defend trans people. Well, my mother thinks you look like a prostitute if you eat while walking, and believes in hitting kids. So wherever she is, I hope life is making her uncomfortable as often as possible.
A big thing that annoys me about the "libs will just go back to brunch if a Democrat is back in the presidency" narrative besides the misogynistic dogwhistle of it all is that the premise isn't true. It's just that the focus of organizing becomes more localized and small.
Also, like, additional yapping for those of you not sick of me talking about bein' trans every 8 seconds. Voice training, huh? Little-a progress already and I can feel my comfy zone *slowly* forming, feelin' muscles but not being able to do much with 'em on purpose yet.
The “slippery slope” argument is flawed. Even if there were only one trans person in the US their rights would still be important and worthy to protect. We can’t lean on “they’ll start with trans people and eventually get to me” and must say “they started with trans people and need to be stopped.”
The official campaign arm of House Democrats has begun running an ad in South Carolina targeting transgender people. www.erininthemorning.com/p/dccc-relea...
Every time I (a trans woman) use a public women’s room I coach myself before I go in: Eyes down. Get to the stall. Do your thing. Get out. If there are other women in the restroom, don’t interact. 1/2.
Re: LRP It's interesting to me to see how the dysphoria policing shows up for people. Many trans men talk about feeling like there's an expectation to "get all the surgeries", be a dom/top, be hyper masculine ect. But I've had pretty much the opposite experience? Both online and IRL.
The vitriol the trans are receiving is a horrifying reminder on what gays received in the ‘80’s. That homophobia is *mostly* unacceptable now. Trans people deserve that same recognition and compassion most gays now receive. People are people not labels.
Completely pointless thread. President Harris doesn't exist and won't ever exist because her and Biden fumbled an easy election. She's not your fucking lost savior she's 1/3rd the reason we're all in this mess.
Hand to God this administration just sitting around hour to hour, throwing darts at a pegboard that says trans people, immigrants, and black women to pick that hour’s target.
It really does wear you down to see the people being hailed as defenders of trans rights always framing the issue as “if trans people lose their rights so will real people” and never as “trans people deserve rights.” It would be nice to be cared about for my own sake and not someone else’s.
Though I try to be better at it, I feel like I was raised in a certain queer SF culture that clashes with some of the bluesky culture ironically. Like when i accidentily say female instead of women or male instead of men, it is ironically because that is how queer people in my community selfrefered
Everywhere you turn now, YT, Nextdoor, FB, you see Republican women proclaiming that it’s UNKIND for friends & family to distance themselves ’simply due to a difference in politics’. Again, we must remind that it’s far more than that in 2026; it’s a difference in morality, empathy & character.
OOO OOOO I got this one! See, I'm autistic and even though I am trans, I only owned that a few years ago. Before that, I was just a gay man, far as I knew. And you know what's funny? Men in restrooms with me made me nervous. Some were even intentionally doing so! So by your logic, I+
I should learn to ignore people who take issue with me saying “trans women are women and always have been”. Is there nuance? Sure. You may not have known until whenever, but you’ve always been a woman.
I've never felt unsafe in the bathroom with a trans woman but I've felt unsafe in nearly every public space because of a cishet man. Bus stop, club, conference room, catering kitchen, stockroom, rodeo staging area, etc So obviously we need to ban men from public spaces for women's comfort, right?
I don't know if I count as a liberal. I'm a libertine. I believe people have their own unique relationship with gender and presentation. I do view myself as someone always crossdressing one way or another. I don't know if other people feel the same way. Transitioning can be expensive but shouldn't.
I worked in an office with all the most standard middle class people you can imagine fr a year and not a single one, of any race or age or gender, had an issue with me using the women’s room, and I am very obviously trans. I talked about it and it’s just visually apparent.
"I don't believe trans girls should be allowed to play sports with other girls." is no more morally justifiable than "I don't believe Black girls should be allowed to play sports with other girls." bjsm.bmj.com/content/60/3...
"Oh nooooo we don't have trans representation in the imperial war machine! With Kamala there would be every minority bombing random people in the Middle East! ❤️"
it's always really interesting to me that these conversations are often vibe-driven rather than about statistics I remember a while back there was one which was about how the only trans girls in media were non-passing and we didn't need more rep of that, and that gave me pause!
I hope I don’t come off as patronizing, but as a cis white guy, when I interact with trans or nb people in my life I try to be a little extra kind to them. They already live in a society that is actively hostile to their existence. It’s really not hard to be nice to people!
Transisioning as a trans bloke made me closer to god. Like almost as if god wanted me to become the man I truly was. Beacuse god loves trans people and made me realise that I was always a man and didn’t even realise it until I was 11. And even before then I had hints as far back as 6 years old.
I get that Republicans have made that their entire identity. I know that makes it hard to change. Facts: Republicans make things worse; Democrats come in & fix it, then a republican comes in, makes things worse again, & blames the previous Democrat. Y'all need an identity that's less disgusting. ☯️🗳️☮️
a dude found me on insta &: “i’m straight but you’re so hot. does that mean i’m gay?” “no, just not as straight as you thought.” “i was gonna say if it does that i’m dtf bc you’re hot as fuck & it doesn’t bother me you’re trans at all” “aw shucks, it almost doesn’t bother me that you’re cis!”
How do they know the woman is trans? Because most women run into the stall, do their business, come out the stall, (hopefully wash their hands 😏) and leave. Are these women peeping in the stalls to do genital checks?
I’m begging people to understand what the words they use mean. I saw what I assume was a cis male liberal account on here accusing Erin of being a bad “ally”, presumably to trans people? Erin is trans, you’re in no position to call her a bad ally to herself. Jesus tapdancing Christ
I hate the whole BS transphobic line that trans women are just men who declare themselves to be women because nobody ever just declares to be a woman, and it undercuts their real emotional turmoil trans people go through to reach a point we finally feel comfortable with our identities.
Eventually, the terf women will be faced with the cishet men theyve allied themselves with and theyll have to accept those men actually hate them and wish them harm Sad, but inevitable
The only people’s genitals I want to be thinking about that aren’t my husband’s are the like three people (off the top of my head? There may be more? And no I don’t have names) who made art with their genitals. Literally, art was made, cast mold and a painting and I think another cast mold.
Hey few things here champ. Someone's identity isn't up to how you feel about it. Also how someone identifies isn't a feeling YOU can have. The trans community was arguably safer 10 years ago. By "equally" do you mean you're giving 0% effort to every community? I'm special.
the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, the official campaign arm of House Democrats, has begun running an anti-tans and anti-immigrant ad in South Carolina for Nancy Lacore, the Democratic nominee in South Carolina’s 1st Congressional District. "pRoTeCt GiRl'S sPoRtS."
Trans women are women If women don't feel comfortable with other women in a public restroom They're probably not gonna feel comfy with ANYONE in there, and they should prolly lock themselves in a stall until anyone leaves. Or seek therapy.
I very sadly have to learn new slurs everyday (not to use, to avoid using them, because people are coming up with new ones every day and I don't want to hurt people), because of people afraid of transgender people. To clarify, slurs are bad, Transgender people are not.n
Also, when she says “elitist”, with “the correct superior beliefs” etc, to her it’s the outrage at the fact These People think theyre morally superior to her. It maddening to her that she is seen as evil and people side with trans people. It ~feels~ like oppression to her to be judged as immoral
Libs are manufacturing consent for the upcoming Democrat crackdown on LGBTQ+ rights.
I've long held this notion that like, 15 years ago Median American hadn't even HEARD of trans people so this modern wave of hate has to be getting astroturfed into existence. And yeah that's it, can't hate the thing without publicizing it.
A community doesn't need to serve you in order to be treated with basic respect. Grow your think meat, develop a heart, and learn to grow.
Really hoping some OSINT folks are figuring out who's really behind this. I'm leaning musk, but... www.wonkette.com/p/this-texas...
