With nearly two years of this, Ukraine has shown it can thwart ground offensives and strike Russian oil without US help.

🔴 Trump eased sanctions on Russian diesel hoping Putin would give something back. This is what he got. Five glide bombs on Zaporizhzhia. 12 people dead. 3 children. You don’t reward Putin and call it leverage.

The most obvious consequence of the diesel deal appears to be that Trump will likely suspend the intelligence sharing that Ukraine needs to attack Russian oil refineries. I assume Kyiv can still manage something here without the US, but it will undoubtedly be less. www.ft.com/content/7fd4...

1/4 MSM keeps missing the real story behind the headlines. The treasonous diesel deal between tRump & Putin was <1% about easing shortages in the US (the volumes *sound* massive but they're not), and >99% about creating an artificial scheme to protect Russian infrastructure and set up Zelensky.

The reaction of the Ukrainian delegation to Trump's betrayal is understandable, but the most striking thing in this article is that apparently the Ukrainians genuinely believed that an energy ceasefire was possible.
