I pretty much only buy things on amazon I can't get locally so amazon is now convinced I am obsessed with "specialty aquarium equipment" and "home filtration" - I'm surprised they didn't decide "buying filters for my car / aquarium / HVAC / air purifier / humidifier / hot tub" is my hobby.

Digital privacy is an aspiration, sadly not a guarantee Amazon's "about you" shant know a thing about me
Excited to find that Amazon hasn't bothered to learn anything about me, possibly because despite using my account daily to check reviews and metadata I haven't bought anything since 2020 except Pantone color guides and shower pipe
Mine lists “Maintains organized living spaces” under Interests and Hobbies and notes that I read mystery novels regularly and care for guinea pigs extensively. In summary: I am evidently the world’s most boring person, but nobody, not even Amazon, thinks my buttocks are flat.
This may come as a shock, but we like comics, graphic novels, and manga according to this. Even going so far to like sequential comics, graphic novels, and manga.
Huh. Amazon’s profile of me is the person I want to be. I look like I travel a lot, study architecture and design, and collect trading cards. Heck yeah I “built comprehensive audio system.” Maybe I’ll have time to turn it on one day.
In many ways, I am very glad that this is what I get to see.
unfortunately the surveillance makes me sound cool as fuck
You may have seen this Amazon Shopping Recommendations issue mushroom across social media. I checked my Amazon accounts and they've got nothing on me. 😎 (Screenshot in second post) But I'll be checking regularly.
Pleasantly surprised by how little Amazon seems to know about me. Most of my flags are to the tune of, "Damn... this bitch reads a lot of books."
Tried this and got "probably owns a juicer". Like, the one I bought from you, amazon, maybe? This surveillance state isn't as terrifying as it might be.
Amazon suspects that I "likely own an iPhone device" (genius) And "Does not read spy thriller often" which is an odd and somewhat inaccurate thing to say.
hey. yeah. you know what? yeah. that's right. tattoo this shit on my gravestone

A section of my list of Amazon.com assumptions about me, with "reads diverse book genres," "appears to value specialized gaming peripherals," and "appears to select professional-grade sports equipment" highlighted.
Well played, Amazon.
LOL, the amazon clanker is hella confused by my enby ass. "They're buying men's clothes AND women's clothes? It's two people--gotta be!"
Dang, they got me!! They know me better than I know myself!!! (I ordered my kid toy, like, once)
😄 The only thing it really seems to know about me is that I still have my Comixology account, which is about all that I've used that site for in the past few years, and not much at that.
The only funny things on here is that it thinks I have a Canon R50 camera (I don't) and drive a Toyota Matrix (I don't but I did get a part for my brother's XR-S on there for him one single time) I guess I should not be surprised from the "you bought a PlayStation 5, would you like another" corp
I was expecting my Amazon About You page to be interestingly bizarre and it was like “likely lives in Minneapolis” and “has a cat” 🥱
I checked the Amazon "About You" thing and it turns out I barely shop through Amazon and they don't have enough data for their chatbot to make guesses about me, which in retrospect yeah actually, I guess I wouldn't.
Trans woman martial artist who wears drag queen level make up n eats spaghetti every night 🤣🤣🤣
I wish the sex toys I’ve bought on there weren’t exempt from algorithm stuff because I’d love to see what it says about me with that
for about 30 years, yes
All of mine boil down to "I think this person MAY have a Nintendo Switch"
“Prefers USB-C connectivity” That’s because the world moved to USB-C and I had to buy a shitpot full of cables.
do they still have my old student account that got hacked years ago and was banned? do they know i don't own any amazon products except audible and I cancelled it forever ago? this is not a flex im just curious if they track their haters too
I just went through and deleted all of the About You AI derived conclusions Amazon has come up with about me. They were about 80% right and also, Amazon thinks I'm a snob.
Mine is extremely boring and extremely accurate, even though I try my best to where possible not use Amazon.
You have no idea
My Amazon "About You" page was completely empty, thankfully. Hope it stays that way 😩
Found my page and Amazon has nothing to say about my ass. A little disappointed TBH.
*hands up* YA GOT ME
Or … don’t use Amazon. For anything.
"omg it knows so much about me that's so quirky tehe" why the fuck are yall normalising this shit
oh shit..
Amazon, what the fuck?
Why would it know about that?
🤔
