People aren't asking for miracles. They want healthcare they can afford, groceries that don't eat up their whole paycheck, and a little more peace of mind. Honestly, whichever party can make real progress on that deserves to be taken seriously.

  2. Last night confirmed once again that in Russia, they take any easing of pressure to mean they can keep fighting, to mean they can keep dropping bombs on cities. Different signals are needed. Russia must understand that it needs to stop the war, and for that to happen, Russia must feel its losses."

  3. Funny enough, Trump borrowed a page from Mao Tse-tung’s playbook: he incited a MAGA farmers’ revolt that wrecked agriculture and left rural communities isolated in dying towns, with no way out. When American farmers could no longer keep their lands, they started selling it to rich Chinese.

Well, I hope so, but so far, I'm disappointed at how little appetite leadership has for trying to impeach them--for the value in the process itself, so don't @ me about votes--or even building a case for it in advance of the midterms. I hope the new Dems (i'm optimistic) come in hot.

Are some Dem. politicos and MS-NOW hosts as out of touch as they sometimes sound? I’m hearing many refer to the elections on Nov. 3rd as if Dems will take charge of Congress the following day instead of 2 months later. What we ARE likely to witness is the most dangerous period in American history.

Regardless of what exactly was or wasn't statistically affected by the strike...this was revealed both in the docu about the Ashley Madison leak, and in the Careless People book. And white hat Gen X has basically been banging this drum since the early 2010s.

40 years of it too. I think the “Russians did Brexit” narrative is bordering on conspiracy theory. Not that it didn’t happen, but like all conspiracy theories it’s a lot easier to nefarious bad faith actors than look at the structural problems - in this case 99% of our press being right wing

Burnham‘s right but whether we move fast or far enough is to be seen. What infuriates me is the argument that this will open old (Brexit) wounds. Remainer wounds have never healed, we have just been expected us to suck it up and shut up. www.theguardian.com/politics/202...

This is an absolutely key point that so many on the winning side of the referendum seem happy to handwave away. If Russia influenced the result *at all* that matters hugely. If we don't all accept that as a principle we're in a dangerous place.

🚨BIG STORY This is the graph of online activity for German far-right party, AfD. It’s collapsed after Russian data centres were hit by Ukraine. It what might be the smartest attack yet, Ukraine is taking out election-interfering Russian bots. No wonder Trump is having a tantrum ahead of midterms…

I don't think Russian interference swung the vote. I think we probably do want to ask why Russia was so keen on us leaving. It isn't because they wanted us to take back control.

For anyone still in any doubt as to what really transpired within the UK to separate it from the EU and then cover up for 10 years, I helped push for this revealing parliamentary debate which put it on govt record: wsocial.eu/profile/stev... Russia, US/UK far-right, media and BIG money did it.

  15. Dehumanization, demonization and scapegoating are all funneled into state-sanctioned violence. Indeed, public executions become a kind of cultish, ritualized sacrament. And livestreaming this enables the regime to reach a broader audience, whether they are willing or not.

Excellent that Burnham provides timely follow-up on his earlier lines on Brexit and to embrace closer ties with EU. Good in tone and direction. (as an aside - and neutral comment - I marvel at the top-down nature of UK politics. Leader says 'that way' - all go 'that way')

I'll go a further than @jamellebouie.net. It is Democrats' first duty to impeach & investigate Trump & his cabinet above anything else.
