Me: I made flan de calabaza! Husband: 🥴 Um, you made horse flan? Me: That would be flan de caballo. It’s pumpkin flan! 🤣 Husband (who has been not-so-subtly hinting that he misses Japanese Seven Eleven’s seasonal pumpkin pudding, which is a glorious thing): Oooh! 🤩 #food #Spanish #Japan #baking

Gazelle horns, or kaab el ghazal, are a classic Moroccan pastry: a paper-thin orange blossom dough wrapped around a soft almond paste scented with cinnamon. The contrast is the point — delicate shell, tender filling, a generous coating of powdered sugar — and they are traditionally served with mint tea or coffee, especially for celebrations. worldfoodwine.com/recipe/gazel… #food #MoroccanFood #GazelleHorns #Baking

Sorry for the crappy pic but I've not done a food pic in forever and I like to post them to remind me that sometimes when I go into a fugue state and then awaken and have made a bunch of stuff on autopilot that it's quite nice and also worthwhile. My brain often goes to path of least resistance so it's useful to remind myself that a few extra steps can yield happy healthy(ish) food. Also - and I know I say this about everything, buuuuuut - is Mexican food the best in the world?...

Made a large batch of homemade tomato sauce last night, and then some meat sauce for #pasta #dinner. 😋 After vacuum sealing, these should last in the fridge for a couple weeks… #food #cooking
