Why Wildroot
A name should be useful.
Somewhere your work can live. An address people can reach. A starting point for what you want to make.
Wildroot brings two things together: a browser that can open a wider range of addresses, and a workspace for using a name of your own.
The name matters because of what you can do with it. Publish a page. Receive mail. Join a social conversation. Find your files and open the tools that work with them. These should feel like connected parts of your day.
Start with the useful parts.
You can try the browser and claim a free name without buying tokens or setting up a wallet. Hosted services make the first steps easier; the browser explains where it relies on those services and where it can verify something itself.
Keep the tradeoffs visible.
We operate the hosted naming, mail and social services. Free names depend on that infrastructure. Connected storage has limits and needs continuing service. A backup file gives you a way to restore your keys; it does not mean we can recover them if you lose it.
Build it with people who use it.
This is an early testing alpha from a small independent project. We want to know where the workflow makes sense, where it surprises you and where it fails. The next step is simple: try a small piece of your day in Wildroot.
