Atlanta Dream OT #WNBA

51 of the story’s 67 posts, best first: each person’s best post, then their other posts. We leave out exact copies and posts from people whose settings keep them off pages like this one. Page 1 of 2. The title is the name people mention most, or the opening line of the best post.

The Dream just defeated the Liberty in an epic overtime thriller at State Farm Arena. Next season, they're set to play every home game there. @michaelwaterloo.bsky.social on the announcement and how they're "learning more in terms of what this market will bear" as they compete in the playoffs:

    Info
  2. The Liberty weren’t able to do everything they needed to tonight and ended up falling just short, losing by one score in overtime to Atlanta. A hard loss. To take this series now and advance, New York will be required to make history and win three games in a row from down 0-2 🙏🏽 🗽 🏀 ⛹🏽‍♀️ #LibertySky

  3. Fun stats during this break: no team has ever come back from an 0-2 deficit in a best-of-5 series in #WNBA playoff history (0-of-13) this is the first time in Jordin Canada's #WNBA career that she's made at least three 3s in three consecutive games.

    Info
  4. I made some excuses for Vegas after Game 1, about how they were struggling to deal with rebounding out of all the switches (like how teams often struggle to rebound out of a zone). But too many of these rebounds are just GSV outworking them. Can't happen. At least not this often. #WNBA

WNBA Semifinal Update: Dream up 2-0 on the Liberty Valkyries up 2-0 on the Aces No team in WNBA history has ever come back to win a 5-game series after going down 2-0.

NEW: The Angel Reese trade becomes more stunning by the day. Wednesday night further reinforced a growing sentiment: the Dream’s decision to trade for her could become one of the great transactions in modern WNBA history. www.sbnation.com/wnba/1131594...

  7. WOW ... the ending, that is crazy. The New York Liberty supposedly had their reset timeout and didn't use it. I have no idea how that's possible. Angel Reese with some major clutch free throws. The Atlanta Dream take a 2-0 series lead and they're one win away from a trip to the #WNBA Finals.

    Opinion
  8. I'm not going to lie...I switched off the Braves game to watch the WNBA playoff game between The Dream and The Liberty. It was a GREAT game. Atlanta won in overtime to go up 2-0 on New York. Game 3 Friday night in New York. Best of 5.

    Opinion
  9. The Dream hold on to beat the Liberty, 101-98, in OT behind six players in double figures and huge nights from Jordin Canada and Angel Reese. The Dream are one win away from making the Finals. Teams with a 2-0 lead in a best-of-five series have a series record of 19-0 in WNBA playoff history.

Angel Reese makes two free throws to give the Dream a 101-98 victory in OT against the Liberty. Reese finishes with 23 points/7 rebounds/2 blocks. The Dream now lead the best of 5 series 2-0. #WNBA

🏀WNBA: Atlanta Dream defeated the NY Liberty in Game 2, 101-98 in OT. Jordin Canada and Angel Reese each scored 23 pts to lead the Dream. Rhyne Howard added 18. Breanna Stewart led the Liberty with 35 pts & 11 rebounds. Jonquel Jones added 21. #WNBA

PANDEMONIUM! INTENTIONAL MISS ON THE FT w Aces down 2 to give Ace teammates the advantage on the rebound. IT WORKS, Gray gets the rebound, goes up! Blocked! Ball is loose! Who has it? Valks have it! Valks pass once, Burton has it too far away to be fouled --- time's up! V+2!!! VALKS WIN!!!!!

    Opinion
  13. We’re 1 win by each team away from a team with Angel Reese/Dewanna Bonner making the WNBA Finals against a California team led by outspoken LGBTQ+ advocates and a Japanese-American head coach. If you wanted to believe in glorious karma this might be the way to do it.

    Opinion
  14. We're real close to having a Dream/Valkyries Finals. Atlanta beats the Liberty, 101-98 in OT while Golden State beats the Aces, 83-81. Both winning teams now have a 2-0 advantage in their respective Best of 5 series. Let's look at the box scores! #WNBA

Alisha Gray not even playing tonight but this assistant coach still seems to be on extra emergency goggle duty that is serious commitment #WNBA

    Opinion

this Aces front office inherited A'ja Wilson (best player in the world), Jackie Young, & Chelsea Gray which are still the team's core but have done a terrible job surrounding them with talent #wnba

Valkyries survive, go up 2-0 and can clinch as soon as Friday in Las Vegas. Didn't have a clear view of what happened under the basket there, but Las Vegas isn't complaining (much).

If either the Aces or Liberty manage to force a Game 5, they would be the first WNBA team to do so after falling behind 2-0 in a best of 5 series

    Info

🤖 Shayna Rubin The Valkyries are a win away from the WNBA Finals. Game 2 showed just how hard that last win will be vs the Aces offense.

    Info

#Aces are not playing great, they seem tired and just not focused, their shots aren't falling, which doesn't help either. However, I am not going to count them out at all... Becky do look pissed tho. #WNBA

    Opinion
  22. @rey-rey.net

Angel was clutch from the line. Liberty forget they had a reset timeout. ATL gets it in OT. Dream are one win away from the Finals.

  1. Golden State needed that win more. They hang on to win 83-81. The Valkyries are now one win away from advancing to the #WNBA Finals for the first time in franchise history. GSV leads the series 2-0. The Las Vegas Aces are now on the brink of elimination.

veronica Burton yelling TIME OUT as soon as she gets her hands near the jump ball in a very late game situational awareness (though I think the refs awarded it to nakase not Burton) #WNBA

Valkyries take a 2-0 series on Las Vegas with 83-81 win. They can clinch a trip to the WNBA Finals with a win on Friday in Las Vegas.
