Just reading today that Aldi have quietly discontinued the “mandatory bag check” policy. Good, about fuckin time. That said, Aldi is becoming less attractive over time. Each time I go to my local, it’s always: * Empty shelves * Out of stock of what I needed * Long queues at the register (of which there’s only one open) * Self checkout registers closed Plus the quality of many products has gone downhill. Now just easier to go to the two majors and not deal with any of that bullshit.

Price gouging and ripoffs have been endemic across American businesses. Since we seldom see price tags on items, customers must be vigilant at the checkout to make sure you are charged the correct amount. And you know it’s not just random error because the incorrectly charged price always benefits the store—never the customer! Glad to see at least one cheat got caught and punished. Who’s next?
I hate/love stores whose main business model is having exactly what you need with no fluff or bullshit around it and decent prices. I keep constantly buying exactly what I need and using it as soon as it arrives and for years after with no issues. This is far too reasonable and normal way to have a business relationship, it is extremely unoutrageous, please would you think of the big corps, how can we have enshittification when y'all doing the exact thing we need in society.
