I got to see the #Chemistry #Nobel medal - this one from 1998 to John Pople ( "for his development of computational methods in quantum chemistry" ) - on display next to the podium at the Pople lecture today - by Prof. Martin Head-Gordon (UC Berkeley) who was a PhD student with Pople in end 80s-early 90s. The medal is here at CMU, donated by Pople's kids. #ProfLife
