Helm by Sarah Hall is a remarkable novel. The story of a weather system through its relationships with people. I've read nothing quite like it (Cloud Atlas and The Overstory are the closest comparisons I can think of), possibly the most powerful fictional engagement with climate change I've read.

I did the bluesky thing and read Piranesi. A tremendous book. Maybe a perfect book for anyone fascinated by Death, Stars, and Mathematics.

A friend recommended She Who Remains, a powerful, intense sprint of a novel about an Albanian woman who becomes a sworn virgin in order to forge her own path and escape the violence of patriarchal laws. The narrative unfolds through a poetic structure with language that pulls you into its world.

The book She Who Remains by Rene Karabash, translated by Izidora Angel. The cover features white and red color blocking with two-thirds of a woman’s face, against a black silhouette outling a male-presenting individual. The cover also features a mountain range near the top.
