I love this time of year as everything is still so colourful, but there is a lot less to do than in spring & summer so more time to just enjoy. There are still some flowers left, mainly asters and Rudbeckia, there is also autumn colour from trees such as Parrotia persica, and grasses like Stipa gigantea are adding to the autumn scene. I leave most of my perennials standing over winter, especially if they have pretty seed heads. #autumn #flowers #garden

There are many birds in the garden these days. Gardenbirding now means trying to count the redwings flying in and out of the garden and flying around in circles above it. I almost get dizzy trying to photograph them while flying around 🙂 . There are about 7 or 8 Yellowhammers doing the same. Blackbirds have come from the north and their number has gone from 1 or 2 to 4 or 5, coming and going. And then there many pigeons, Chaffinches and jackdaws (whole groups) at the moment. Many more than normal. Trying to count them is impossible, did a new group of redwings arrive, or is it the same group flying around? Today I saw 7 at the same time, but it might well have been 30 (or more) of them in all. #denmark
🌿Plant some hanging baskets with fragrant herbs like marjoram, chives, basil, and parsley. For a splash of color and a tasty bonus, include a specially bred trailing tomato. Top Tip: Ensure the basket is deep enough to support the tomato's roots for best fruiting! 🪴 #gardening #gyo #permaculture
I was very surprised to walk past this most unusual flower in Tierpark. Having never seen anything like it before I naturally caught a photo. It appears to be Fritillaria Imperialis, aka Crown Imperial. #photography #nature #flora #flowers #bloomscrolling #Berlin #Germany leonard.earth/2026/10/23/crown…
