Castles in the landscape. The hauntingly beautiful ruins of Carew castle in Pembrokeshire, Wales. A classic Edwardian castle, it replaced an earlier medieval fortress on the site. Later developed into a more palatial form in the Tudor period, it was finally abandoned in the seventeenth century.
