Watched the New Zealand horror-comedy Housebound (2014, d. Gerard Johnstone) tonight, which was both funny and horrifying (I know, right?). After a botched ATM robbery, a young woman is sentenced to 8 months of house arrest at her mom's house, which happens to be haunted. The actual plot has lots of twists and turns; it's fair to say it's a bit convoluted, but it definitely hangs together to it's satisfying - and gross - conclusion. #Film #Movies #Cinemastodon #Horror #Comedy #New Zealand

  3. I love a good genre comedy, but too often both the makers and audience assume that "comedy" means it's above critique, and that anyone who does so somehow isn't aware it's a comedy. I still see a lot of people do this with "Lake Placid", even though my biggest gripe is that I didn't find it funny.

Search looks through the last 36 hours of public posts for your words, "exact phrases", #hashtags, @handles and websites, and also finds posts about the same thing by meaning. New posts join about every 10 minutes. We only include posts whose authors allow logged-out viewing (Bluesky) or search (Mastodon, indexable accounts), and we re-check Bluesky authors each time we show a page. Likes and follower counts never decide the order. For meaning matches, query text is turned into a fingerprint on Wildroot’s own server (EmbeddingGemma-300M); it is never sent to another service. Wildroot does not save query text to disk. Looking for posts like one you have? Similar posts. How to opt out.
