  1. ADHD adult here. It was missed in childhood because I was a girl and academically able, so missed homework, disorganisation was dismissed as "dreamy". I had great parents & a structured home life. Have seriously struggled in adulthood w executive dysfunction & demand avoidance.

Reminded today when an ex friend tried to argue with me that their ADHD was “just as” disabling as my chronic pain and fatigue and like. I don’t mean to downplay ADHD. Neurodivergence can suck when it’s not accommodated. But also Jesus Christ

  3. My 10 y/o son has ADHD. He's not ashamed to be open about it. He discusses with his friends (some of whom ADHDers, autistics or neurotypical kids) how they perceive the world, how they learn etc. Me at that age? "Oh that's the weirdo kid."🙄 You get labelled anyway. And this was far more damaging

More people are getting diagnosed because more people are aware of ADHD and its symptoms, and there's been more research on it. Actually getting diagnosed is a serious struggle. I got referred by my GP in July, still waiting for so much as a letter confirming as such from the assessment provider.

I am in a kind of do-I-have-ADHD place because I don’t know if I have A Thing or am just Bad At Being A Person, either way knowing what the problem is would give me better tools to deal with it

This exactly sums me up too! I mean, I still get immensely frustrated when I do a clichéd ADHD thing*, but at least the amphetamines mean I can get stuff done. *big fan of making a cup of tea and forgetting about it

Search looks through the last 36 hours of public posts for your words, "exact phrases", #hashtags, @handles and websites, and also finds posts about the same thing by meaning. New posts join about every 10 minutes. We only include posts whose authors allow logged-out viewing (Bluesky) or search (Mastodon, indexable accounts), and we re-check Bluesky authors each time we show a page. Likes and follower counts never decide the order. For meaning matches, query text is turned into a fingerprint on Wildroot’s own server (EmbeddingGemma-300M); it is never sent to another service. Wildroot does not save query text to disk. Looking for posts like one you have? Similar posts. How to opt out.
