I try not to let things get to me, but the fact that they are now openly causing harm to other #OpenSource projects fuck #omarchy and good bye @digitalocean.com which I had used for business and personal needs for over 7 years.

📢 #CrossOriginStorage API update: we have renamed `navigator.crossOriginStorage.requestFileHandle()` to `getFileHandle()` for better symmetry with the OPFS API, so it's easier coming from OPFS's `getFileHandle()` (developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/W...). OPFS's `name` is COS's `hash`.

I made another programming language: github.com/aardappel/go... Safer, faster, and uses less memory than Rust & C++. No allocators, no GC, stable pointers to growing in-line data structures:

Cartographer 2.0 is available now. Cartographer is a native, privacy-first #GPS viewer/editor for #macOS. Import a GPX file from any device or service or create your own maps and send them to your device. Greatly improved performance, add notes and links to waypoints or routes, new UI, better elevation profiles, weather forecasts for any location and much more. Plan a #hiking or #biking adventure, review workouts or use for anything needing a map/GPS data. apps.apple.com/us/app/squirrel…

I built Cartographer for my own use and use it almost every day. It’s constantly improving and welcome any suggestions. I got tired of slow web apps or corporate vultures buying apps I was using and if not killing it, making it so expensive it’s effectively dead to me. I don’t need another social network. I want to create maps for my adventures. That’s what the app does. Create maps. Plan trips. Share if you like but it’s not FB for hiking. #GPS #macOS #hiking #biking

People say that free/open source software is community first, creating software second. But often it's "someone is wrong on the internet" first, community second and maaaaybe somewhere down the line there is software. #floss #opensource

Link to the repo for those interested: github.com/storytold I took a look and its not bad at all. I was more into the photoshop clone, but it is fast, smooth and does what I need... (so does gimp, but this is still pretty cool)

Search looks through the last 36 hours of public posts for your words, "exact phrases", #hashtags, @handles and websites, and also finds posts about the same thing by meaning. New posts join about every 10 minutes. We only include posts whose authors allow logged-out viewing (Bluesky) or search (Mastodon, indexable accounts), and we re-check Bluesky authors each time we show a page. Likes and follower counts never decide the order. For meaning matches, query text is turned into a fingerprint on Wildroot’s own server (EmbeddingGemma-300M); it is never sent to another service. Wildroot does not save query text to disk. Looking for posts like one you have? Similar posts. How to opt out.
