  1. I admit it. I was naive. When I realized my book needed to be "A memoir of waste and abuse at the NSA" (not the title), instead of a quasi-leadership book with the same content and a few leader lessons spackled over the top, I thought I'd get away with minor edits... 1/2 #writing #bookSky

  2. "Writing is how I move through the world." Love this interview with @thorntonforreal.bsky.social !! Also this - "As I’ve gotten older, I’ve learned how to write about my experiences without really writing about them. I don’t want to write a memoir. I do want to write about how life feels."

Woke up with a full idea for a novel in my head. Which is great except that I don’t generally write fiction. 👀 Is this a thing or am I simply avoiding the pages of memoir edits on my writing table? Send help.

Today I'm reading "National Dish" by Anya Von Bremzen. It lives between a food history and memoir, from the perspective of a traveler from Veridian near the Baltic sea. It's draws lines between dishes and people between countries, without harsh judement, more as an explorer.

Finished Bread of Angels by Patti Smith. A memoir detailing Patti’s early years, becoming a musician, recording her iconic albums, & touring the world. The book also covers the loss of people she loved, discovering her passion for writing, & learning who her true father was via DNA tests. Excellent.

Kinda like the idea of using lycanthropy as an extended metaphor for mental health issues and use it to create a memoir of me and my family. When I was younger people would tell me "you should write a book" whenever my mom did something crazy. Maybe after she goes? IDK.

Search looks through the last 48 hours of public posts for your words, "exact phrases", #hashtags, @handles and websites, and also finds posts about the same thing by meaning. New posts join about every 10 minutes. We only include posts whose authors allow logged-out viewing (Bluesky) or search (Mastodon, indexable accounts), and we re-check Bluesky authors each time we show a page. Likes and follower counts never decide the order. Meaning search uses a model on Wildroot’s server. Query text may be sent through OpenRouter to an embedding provider if that model is unavailable or for a quality-check sample. Wildroot does not save query text to disk.
