  1. #Interop2027 voting is open, and @firefoxwebdevs is again doing their own more detailed ranking system: interop-rank.fxdx.dev I've ranked the new Web App Install APIs first, as I believe they're the most needed to get the web platform to be competitive on mobile and therefore stay relevant over the long-term: github.com/web-platform-tests/…

I'm really glad we're running this again. It helped us prioritise a lot of work this year. The previous method was 👍 on GitHub issues, which (imo) is too easily gamed, either intentionally or unintentionally.

I like that @gandersocial.ca, after raising its post limit to 900 characters, is now introducing open and invite-only communities. If you can share posts with friends, followers or a list only, it could make Facebook obsolete for those who want more than microblogging and want to get rid of Meta.

Search looks through the last 36 hours of public posts for your words, "exact phrases", #hashtags, @handles and websites, and also finds posts about the same thing by meaning. New posts join about every 10 minutes. We only include posts whose authors allow logged-out viewing (Bluesky) or search (Mastodon, indexable accounts), and we re-check Bluesky authors each time we show a page. Likes and follower counts never decide the order. For meaning matches, query text is turned into a fingerprint on Wildroot’s own server (EmbeddingGemma-300M); it is never sent to another service. Wildroot does not save query text to disk. Looking for posts like one you have? Similar posts. How to opt out.
