I absolutely hate the current environment of massive data collection by corporations and every other institution we interact with. However, polluting the data by purposely supplying wrong information to mess up the algo could seriously backfire. That incorrect data you think is funny could cost you a job, housing, medical care, insurance or other benefits when that info becomes part of the criteria used by the computers to decide who gets denied. It will be difficult to argue incorrect information was used for the determination when they can show you are the one who provided that information.

If I had a dime for every time I brought up the Therac-25 to a coworker, new hire or intern and they gave me a blank stare because nearly no computer science program has a useful ethics prerequisite, I would have a dime for virtually every person I've ever worked with professionally.

In today’s episode of “nothing shocks me about the ethics of Meta”, their Muse AI product is secretly building dossiers on everybody, and is programmed not to be transparent about what it has stored. Engineers fear a massive data breach is on the horizon. 🫠 time.com/article/2026... #ai

Search looks through the last 48 hours of public posts for your words, "exact phrases", #hashtags, @handles and websites, and also finds posts about the same thing by meaning. New posts join about every 10 minutes. We only include posts whose authors allow logged-out viewing (Bluesky) or search (Mastodon, indexable accounts), and we re-check Bluesky authors each time we show a page. Likes and follower counts never decide the order. Meaning search uses a model on Wildroot’s server. Query text may be sent through OpenRouter to an embedding provider if that model is unavailable or for a quality-check sample. Wildroot does not save query text to disk.
