  2. #climatechangeD it shocks me as someone who did their special topics/thesis on satellite meteorology that looking at the imagery over so many years, that obviously the planet is not the same, it is not an advancement in the quality but what that quality indicates & reveals cheers or tears, both

Signals ramping up fast via a stronger upper ocean atmosphere coupling driven by the non-linear relation between higher SSTs and the reaction of the atmosphere Slowly studies come out as anove goes nuts during extreme El Ninos if the upper ocean is preconditioned: 100m heat content #climate #earth

lnkd.in Found now a reference for what I fear: higher SSTs lead to a strengthening ocean surface atmosphere coupling while in a warmer world El Nino's strengthen ma

Central principle which will fuck us big time: "Elevated mean SST globally allows even minor SST variations to exert stronger influences on atmospheric circulation, thereby amplifying ENSO’s impacts on regional climate patterns" #climate #earth

  5. As researchers around the world begin work on the next U.N. climate assessment, fears that the Trump administration could meddle with critical U.S. climate data grow. In response, scientists are preparing to transfer vast troves of that data to repositories in Germany. e360.yale.edu/features/ger...

A big logistics challenge in #Greenland is how to get observations close to calving ice fronts where large glaciers enter the ocean. A lot of sediment deposition occurs in this zone, somewhat skewing inferences from 'downstream' observations 🌊 aslopubs.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/...

I size equipment for Oil and Gas that is heavily dependent on the weather. The max temps for the Middle East they give me keep going up and up. 50 years hottest they asked for was 115 F. They now ask for 135 F with regularity. They know exactly what's happening.

Search looks through the last 36 hours of public posts for your words, "exact phrases", #hashtags, @handles and websites, and also finds posts about the same thing by meaning. New posts join about every 10 minutes. We only include posts whose authors allow logged-out viewing (Bluesky) or search (Mastodon, indexable accounts), and we re-check Bluesky authors each time we show a page. Likes and follower counts never decide the order. For meaning matches, query text is turned into a fingerprint on Wildroot’s own server (EmbeddingGemma-300M); it is never sent to another service. Wildroot does not save query text to disk. Looking for posts like one you have? Similar posts. How to opt out.
