    A bit weird and amusing to find out something about next-door #Vermont from the BBC, but this article is delightful to see: bbc.co.uk/future/article/20260… tl;dr — Vermont has a growing program to support large home #batteries. It’s particularly great for folks who are in areas that are prone to outages, but even more importantly, it allows the grid operators to use those home batteries to smooth power, and avoid “peak” problems. This is downright wonderful to see, a real boon for #renewableEnergy, and I’d love to see Massachusetts get equally serious about something like this…

    My MacBook I've been failing to sell for a reasonable price has been sitting for like five months in a box and I suddenly remembered batteries don't like having no charge for that long. Charged it up and the battery health dropped from 91% to 86% 🙃🙃🙃

    once upon a time, kids, companies that sold fake products got busted for fraud now, Amazon not only sells 9900 mah 18650 batteries — a thing which does not exist — but they include it in their lightning deals and deal day coupons. (these batteries are all between 500-1500 mah)

    🧵 I’ve discovered if I lie down & put my feet up soon after I get up (see red in image), it recharges my body battery well, often at a better rate than when I was sleeping! If I do the same thing, later in the day (see green), I often see no increase in my body battery & often some decrease #PwME 1/

    Tesla sucks but this technology objectively whips. Being able to plug and play big batteries in cars, on trains, boats, and trucks opens up so many new ways to Do Stuff. Circuits in houses become modular grids, disaster relief is way easier and not diesel dependent, camping and off grid gets better.

    The Danish CPO OK wants to install batteries at 70 of its existing charging sites, with a total capacity of 30 MW/60 MWh. Clever use of existing grid connections, which have ample free capacity most of the time, will allow the sites to grow and unlock grid capacity for new ones.

    One of my biggest Steam Frame complaints in my review is the headset's relatively poor battery life compared to the Meta Quest. Alledgedly the latest firmware improves battery life aprox 12%. Not enough to fix my issue, but a welcome improvement nonetheless. Will test soon.
