  3. Awesome thread. When I lived in the U.K., the Best Performance Value Indicator surveys (BVPI) that council had a statutory requirement to conduct asked about the extent to which 'teenagers hanging around in the streets' was a problem. Government complicity is also part of how we got here.

I can't put it into words, they are not the same thing, of course, but the effects of their existence are somewhat similar. And the net returns (ecological/biodiversity damage) are deplorable, while capitalism insists that it is absolutely necessary to keep using each
