One of the most annoying things about 1960s music is that strain of hippie trash where people got really into Edwardian nonsense poetry but didn't bother to read any of it

Ringo Starr, encountering an earlier version of Jeffrey Archer in the 1960s, described him as “the kind of bloke who would bottle your piss and sell it”. www.ft.com/content/5235...

Anna Biller’s THE FACE OF HORROR sees the fastidious re-fashioner of cinema’s mid-1960s golden age transplanting a classic Japanese ghost story to 14th-century England. #LFF Read @roccotthompson.bsky.social's review.

Is God Is was fantastic. Written and directed by a Black woman (her debut!!), all Black cast, not centered on slavery or 1960s racism and civil rights. Instead centered on Black woman rage. Just excellent, but it might also be a hard watch; it is a violent movie.

Jazz OTD: It's hard to pick the best of Andrew Hill's uniformly excellent 1960s Blue Note recordings, but "Compulsion!!!!!" - recorded October 8, 1965 - is certainly among the most memorable, for the intensity of the compositions and its varied instrumentation. The remarkable closing track. #Jazzsky

  7. In primary school (1960s), we learned that mountain areas above 3,000 m altitude in the Alps had eternal snow. I'm afraid we're seeing the end of that. Matterhorn, 4,478 m high, last week. gelderlander.nl/buitenland/zwi… #ClimateChange #mountains

the way basketall does timeouts is genuinely so antiquated it feels like the 1960s on the court we have technology this should not be that fucking hard the officials should never be the potential point of error any coach/player/viewer should be able to within seconds check the status visually.

  9. "Hey Baby" by Jimi Hendrix is a hell of a #song. I hear this and imagine a crowd of stoned out hippies grooving to the sound. Makes me think of "Twentieth Century Fox" by The Doors. 1960s #bands were noticing society changing and their lyrics show it. www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ofv...

  10. A full-blown gothic daydream of goblets and cotehardies, Biller’s latest doesn’t make a convincing argument that there’s much beneath the skin of her aesthetic fetishism. But for anyone for whom style itself carries its own kind of meaning, this face is well worth gazing upon. #filmsky 📽️

Search looks through the last 36 hours of public posts for your words, "exact phrases", #hashtags, @handles and websites, and also finds posts about the same thing by meaning. New posts join about every 10 minutes. We only include posts whose authors allow logged-out viewing (Bluesky) or search (Mastodon, indexable accounts), and we re-check Bluesky authors each time we show a page. Likes and follower counts never decide the order. For meaning matches, query text is turned into a fingerprint on Wildroot’s own server (EmbeddingGemma-300M); it is never sent to another service.
