Creating pictures using evolutionary algorithms is really neat. This is an idea going back to like 1991. Rather than theft as genAI is, this algorithm itself is art in exactly the same way DemoScene programming is art. When intentionality exists, procedurality comes from the creator.

  2. I hate this so much. The BBC should be providing good quality, good value programmes that the private market won't cover. You and Yours (which I kind of hate), Thinking Allowed and Free Thinking are exactly the sort of programming that the BBC is i) good at, ii) not haemorrhaging money to make.

Congratulations, it really is just like a person and certainly not smarter than one. (This is wild to me because if they added more programming to detect context, the algorithm might come up with the same "why the fuck are they on a golf course, in suit and tie, holding club wrong, with Grimace?")

Thank you so much for featuring Schrödinger's Call! I'm the developer responsible for the scenario, music, and programming. I listened to your podcast using Google Translate to convert it into Japanese.

  5. The BBC hates anything that might be construed as having serious cultural weight. It sees it, at best, as out of touch and at worst ‘elitist’. Which it drives it into becoming by treating it with scorn.

Search looks through the last 36 hours of public posts for your words, "exact phrases", #hashtags, @handles and websites, and also finds posts about the same thing by meaning. New posts join about every 10 minutes. We only include posts whose authors allow logged-out viewing (Bluesky) or search (Mastodon, indexable accounts), and we re-check Bluesky authors each time we show a page. Likes and follower counts never decide the order. For meaning matches, query text is turned into a fingerprint on Wildroot’s own server (EmbeddingGemma-300M); it is never sent to another service. Wildroot does not save query text to disk. Looking for posts like one you have? Similar posts. How to opt out.
