  1. My horror projects are actually somewhat on hold right now while out to beta readers. Instead I'm currently working on a silly fantasy book where my main character is learning that he's not just really tall for a gnome, he's secretly human! #HorrorWritersChat

  2. #HorrorWritersChat I write all types of horror and horror-adjacent genres. I'm pretty flexible, which helps when short stories are one of my main mediums. To answer Q1: a living being growing out of something non-organic, like a fully-developed human growing out of the side of a skyscraper.

#HorrorWritersChat Q1: Hi! I'm Elliott Dunstan and I write gothic horror with a touch of cosmic/eldritch. I also dabble in surrealism and body horror! As for the question -- I mean, pretty much anything growing where it shouldn't is messed up, but I'm particularly fond of inorganic stuff taking-

  4. Carrie S01E01 released in 2026 Siena Agudong, a woman of color, is the first to point out to the biggest bully which person is Carrie. This reinforces negative stereotypes. Naika Toussaint, a Black Woman, is depicted positively. But irl at the intersection of gender and ethnicity/race Black Women are the most marginalized. Omitting racism might help convince many that racism doesn't actually exist. imdb.com/title/tt11540908 #tv #horror #blackactors

  5. Lets talk about the "Vanishing on 7th Street." Yes, terrible name, but I think it's a great premise. You leave the light, you vanish. However it seems only SOLAR power is immune to the forces. I found the movie entertaining, and though Anakin Skywalker's acting was terrible, the movie as a whole was good. I dunno why this movie couldn't get a cult following. I could write stories of fan fiction about it. #horror

  6. #HorrorWritersChat Hey, I'm Anna and I sometimes write scary sci-fi horror because it's fun, other times its cozy fantasy horror. I don't know which is more creepy, waking up and seeing a body part growing on a plant in the corner, or finding a plant growing on me. Either would be freaky.

  7. After having a lovely interview about my book Godfestation with my original hometown East Tennessee library, Kingsport Public Library (which is given a nod in the book!), i’m reflecting on the journey that is grief. It’s not linear. And I hope readers who find this book find some solace in the fact that we’re not truly alone in this shared journey. #books #horror #fantasy #appalachia

Watched the New Zealand horror-comedy Housebound (2014, d. Gerard Johnstone) tonight, which was both funny and horrifying (I know, right?). After a botched ATM robbery, a young woman is sentenced to 8 months of house arrest at her mom's house, which happens to be haunted. The actual plot has lots of twists and turns; it's fair to say it's a bit convoluted, but it definitely hangs together to it's satisfying - and gross - conclusion. #Film #Movies #Cinemastodon #Horror #Comedy #New Zealand

In the current horror-adjacent WIP, I have planted seeds about Simon's unknown past and parentage. Turns out he's going to have an unexpected half-sibling to deal with. Also to be harvested, the truth about the mysterious artifact, the Moth Door. #HorrorWritersChat.

Search looks through the last 36 hours of public posts for your words, "exact phrases", #hashtags, @handles and websites, and also finds posts about the same thing by meaning. New posts join about every 10 minutes. We only include posts whose authors allow logged-out viewing (Bluesky) or search (Mastodon, indexable accounts), and we re-check Bluesky authors each time we show a page. Likes and follower counts never decide the order. For meaning matches, query text is turned into a fingerprint on Wildroot’s own server (EmbeddingGemma-300M); it is never sent to another service.
