  1. An independent Quebec would hold much less sway when trading with American companies. America has already challenged Quebec culture…and this is only the beginning. Canadian Quebec, is a strong, respected Quebec. Be careful what you wish for. Same for Alberta.

I was going to post “I mean of course, because QS is a descendant of the Quebec NDP, which disaffiliated in the early 1990s because the failure of Meech Lake unleashed some weird sh*t in the federation”, but checked my history before posting, and it’s actually a bunch more complicated. Fun fun.

  6. Quebec’s out-of-province tuition ($9,000) was already high for Canada. Raising it to $12,000 was super high. I don’t expect people from other provinces to get the very cheap $3,000 local tuition. But Quebecers can go to UBC and pay $6,200 for most programs. Yet BCers come here and pay $12,000?

They don't want us knowing, because most of it isn't being used for our benefit, but filling corporate & crony pockets, and the resulting shortfalls are being used to foment rage, as they pretend it's due to equalization payments going to Quebec.

It would be interesting to see how many were in #Ontario especially jn healthcare with Ford’s refusal to fund the public health adequately and his pushing jobs out to America - he doesn’t wear that Captain Canada cape behind closed doors

Search looks through the last 36 hours of public posts for your words, "exact phrases", #hashtags, @handles and websites, and also finds posts about the same thing by meaning. New posts join about every 10 minutes. We only include posts whose authors allow logged-out viewing (Bluesky) or search (Mastodon, indexable accounts), and we re-check Bluesky authors each time we show a page. Likes and follower counts never decide the order. For meaning matches, query text is turned into a fingerprint on Wildroot’s own server (EmbeddingGemma-300M); it is never sent to another service.
