Dead star births a new planet- "Second-generation planets are worlds that form out of the material a star casts off as it dies. They're incredibly rare, and finding one around a white dwarf was completely unexpected" popsci.com/science/dead-star-b… #space #WorldSpaceWeek #science

Hubble found a strange chemical signature around a white dwarf that may be a second generation planet forming from the material expelled from the dying star. TESS data might show a Jupiter sized world orbiting nearby as well. Even dying stars birth new worlds. 🔭✨🤯

“This is what happens when a star like ours reaches the end of its lifecycle, sheds its outer layers, and collapses into a white dwarf, spending the next many trillions of years cooling into a black dwarf while its stellar mass reaches into interstellar space, eventually contributing their elements to forming planets.” petapixel.com/2026/10/05/eerie… #space #WorldSpaceWeek #science

Search looks through the last 36 hours of public posts for your words, "exact phrases", #hashtags, @handles and websites, and also finds posts about the same thing by meaning. New posts join about every 10 minutes. We only include posts whose authors allow logged-out viewing (Bluesky) or search (Mastodon, indexable accounts), and we re-check Bluesky authors each time we show a page. Likes and follower counts never decide the order. For meaning matches, query text is turned into a fingerprint on Wildroot’s own server (EmbeddingGemma-300M); it is never sent to another service. Wildroot does not save query text to disk. Looking for posts like one you have? Similar posts. How to opt out.
