  1. #LateNightWrite I didn't start writing stories until I was in high school. I told myself stories my whole life as a means of escape, but I didn't start writing them until I was 17. It already had heavy themes of otherness & responsibility to those who failed you by virtue of knowing better.

#WordWeavers Oct 11: Share a passage from your WIP where the setting is doing as much storytelling as the characters. Oh, that's easy! The very first passage! (Although this is slightly complicated by the fact my setting *is* one of my characters. But it doesn't start talking until a page or two after this. Well, not in words, anyway; that bell is kind of a way of talking...)

#LitHodgepodge General question for anyone: how important is it to you to be original with your storytelling? It’s a difficult thing because of how many stories have been told and there are only so many “types”. Do you even try to be unique? Or just try to tell your story the best you can?

  5. #LitHodgepodge Ok, Ive got a weird one. I am generally a pantser. I like to paint lush scenery and wander around till I find a wonky plot. I have tried planning, which is great, cuz then the story is tighter, but it loses A LOT of lushness as I focus on plot. How do you do both?

Search looks through the last 36 hours of public posts for your words, "exact phrases", #hashtags, @handles and websites, and also finds posts about the same thing by meaning. New posts join about every 10 minutes. We only include posts whose authors allow logged-out viewing (Bluesky) or search (Mastodon, indexable accounts), and we re-check Bluesky authors each time we show a page. Likes and follower counts never decide the order. For meaning matches, query text is turned into a fingerprint on Wildroot’s own server (EmbeddingGemma-300M); it is never sent to another service. Wildroot does not save query text to disk. Looking for posts like one you have? Similar posts. How to opt out.
