Sarracenia rubra spp. wherryi has been looking good here at the end of summer. Too bad we had our first frost last night (but not killing). Soon may have to bring my carnivorous babies indoors for their winter dormancy in the cellar. #plants #carnivorousplants #SavageGarden #botany #nature #naturephotography #biodiversity #photography #biology #ecology #pitcherplant

Like, "cloud computing," I'm finding that most of the people I speak with who don't work in tech (and some who do), have no idea how "AI"/LLMs get the information they use. An entire education of the, for lack of a better word, "ecology" of LLMs needs to be consciousness-raised to VOTERS.

For #BirdOfTheDay alt theme #Perched, a Great Blue Heron perched on top of a chain link fence at Bolsa Chica Ecological Reserve. The heron was in the middle of a long preening session, and I was surprised it was so relaxed out in the open and near a (human) walking path.

This is something I love about @asn-amnat.bsky.social publishing: an American Naturalist article looks distinctly like an AmNat article.
Search looks through the last 48 hours of public posts for your words, "exact phrases", #hashtags, @handles and websites, and also finds posts about the same thing by meaning. New posts join about every 10 minutes. We only include posts whose authors allow logged-out viewing (Bluesky) or search (Mastodon, indexable accounts), and we re-check Bluesky authors each time we show a page. Likes and follower counts never decide the order. Meaning search uses a model on Wildroot’s server. Query text may be sent through OpenRouter to an embedding provider if that model is unavailable or for a quality-check sample. Wildroot does not save query text to disk.
